Does railroad provide extra shield on mined grassland/plain?

So there's no point in chopping down the forest. If you did, you'd just have to build a mine to get back to where you started.

Well.... other than a city where the 10 shields come in really handy upon chopping down the forest. It all depends on the play, imho.

But if the 10 shields aren't useful (and when would THAT be in a tundra city.... ), then I'd keep the forest.

If I only have 2 of something within my territory, and one of them is not within a city radius, then I do not build a road in that tile unless the resource is needed (the first one depletes).

Why not?

IIRC, in some thread it was determined that resource depletion is not connected to whether the resource is developed (roaded) or not.

My understanding is that an unconnected resource (one that doesn't contribute to the numbers on your city screen because it doesn't have a road to it) will not deplete.

I could of course be wrong though :)
