[R&F] Does Rise&Fall is actually a nerf for Poland ?

I'm a big genghis khan player, but when my friends pray me to not pick him i pick Poland.
The reasons that make me like Poland are simple :

Taxin' others tiles

But with the new loyalty mechanic, it's now impossible to put a city next to an ennemy frontier, in order to build your encampment and steal the cases. I usually do that to my friends that have this nasty habit to "turtle" the games (meaning they just produce sciences and wait to win) so i can break their campus (and it's fun).

When i play Poland i usually relly on that. You may find that strategy weird but i do :
-Culture to get winged hussards
-religion to get choral (meaning + culture)
-and encampments to break others campus so they do'nt get too much advances. It usually lead to a war but i do'nt care if i have my winged hussards.

Yeah.

You may consider me like a big noob after reading this, but please understand that i'm used to play as a warmonger .
But often, my friends yell at me to play everything BUT genghis khan. So i've decided i could play differently with Poland but holy crap how weird it is.

So here's my questions. Does R&F make the tiles-stealing gameplay impossible ? And is doing war by producing culture is a fleeting strategy ?

Please, apologizes me for my poor dialect. Understand that i'm French, a 17 years old and that i don't master English perfectly (i'm working on it). I did not find a better expression that "taxing others tiles" to explain my strategy.

Any recommendations or tips is welcome.

I am not sure I fully understand your strategy and how it relates to the campus. Do you build your encampment next to your friends’ campus? So they lose the adjaceny bonus when you steal the tiles?

They lose adjacent bonuses ?
No They lose the tile where their campus is so they don't have their campus anymore

Tile stealing with culture bombs is still possible, you just have to make sure the loyalty pressure from your cities is greater than your neighbour's, by working on your population and ensuring golden ages, among other things. Some time ago I played a game as Poland and managed to snatch quite a few tiles from my neighbour Kongo.

I'll try better to not lose loyalty, but there is still the problem of making war through culture. Is it efficient ?
I mean, we need science to not getting late on the others. Science and culture isn't a very good mix. Certainly i'm wrong, but how could i improve that ?

Buffed them in my opinion. The GMC is perfect for Poland. Spam holy sites, take choral music, rush mercenaries and a T3 govt and you're golden.

I don't really completely know culture bombs. Can you culture bomb a tile while a district is in the process of being constructed, but not yet made? Theoretically could you could have builders on hand to chop an encampment just as you think they are about to finish their campus but not yet done? Would they lose all the production they had invested?

Bomb culture is that great man. Yes the Bomb erase their district even if constructing . They lose their production then. There is also the forts of military engineer that steal tiles so in rebirth era ( am i right in pronounciation? ).
Socrates99 what mean t3 ?

Culture Bomb won't affect a tile with a district on it.
Poland works great with R&F, culture bomb can decrease loyalty on the oponent too.
But do have to be cautious where you build cities, you can't just put a city right next to your opponent and far away from your cities just to culture bomb them

I believe your are referring to the "Renaissance Era". (after Medieval, before Industrial)

Maybe that’s the nerf he is talking about. In vanilla you could strategically send settlers mid or late game and place with the intent of taking out a campus or two.

BTSeven7 that's what i meant by nerf poland excuse me i should have mentionned.
But i disagree on one thing :culture bomb do remove districts. I've done that many times.

Does culture bomb work beyond the 3rd ring of the city? In the one game I have played as Poland post R&F, I seem to remember the culture bomb only expanding out to the 3rd ring. When I placed a fort in the 3rd ring, it expanded to the other 2nd and 3rd ring adjacent tiles including taking some territory, but the 4th ring tile (which was in the second ring of the neighboring city) did not convert IIRC.

I agree that using Poland and culture bombing an opponent using an Encampment got a LOT harder with R&F due to loyalty. Seems like Poland got nerfed in that regard alright.

which is funny considering that it is a french word ;)
It also literally means "rebirth." I'm guessing he translated its literal meaning without realizing that English speakers simply transliterated the French word as the term for the historic period.

Yeah we the french don't know what words english speakers use in french.
I have a new question : Should i pick Reliquaries or Chorale for bonus culture with Poland ?
