Mar. 9 - A village dog adopts a wild monkey and the two become inseparable.

When severe flood waters hit northern Mozambique in 2002, causing misery and extensive damage to property and crops, many animals were left to fend for themselves. But villagers in Caia witnessed a bizarre friendship between a dog and a monkey.

A skinny dog emerged from the bush with a tiny monkey clinging to its back.

The villagers have named the pair Billy and Kiko, and they've been inseparable ever since.

I could see my dog doing something crazy yet heart melting like that. She'd carry the monkey around like a stuffed animal though.

What kind of monkey? If it's a chimp or something like that, then the monkey is just plain stupid. It could be the Lord of Dogs! Sure a monkey would learn to pick up a Pedigree(is it a dog food trademark elsewhere than Finland?) bag, give few dollars to the salesman and give the food to the dogs. And dogs would follow and protect the monkey. Other monkeys would lose to the DogMonkey, aka Donkey. Soon Mozambiquean governments would have to put soldiers near the jungle to prevent Donkey's militia to rob local villages.

That monkey doesn't do what it is capable of.

That's awesome. :)

Hopefully this is just the beginning of the Donkey Alliance Hitti-Litti. They just need to find those chimps that were making spears and we could have a civilization of mounted warriors.

I'm suddenly reminded of the newest Zelda game... :lol:

We just need some smuggler to bring spear-chimps to Donkey's, and soon we would see monkey's making bows and riding with jaguars. :mishchief;
