So I thought it would be a neat little idea if I created an updated elimination thread for the domination victory. In this thread, we shall rank civilization based on their capability in achieving a domination victory (did I just repeat myself?).

Rules:
- Roughly every 24 hours you may vote. You add one point to one leader and take away three points from another.
- Posts with missing upvote or downvote are skipped. Only voting posts are allowed in this thread.
- You must write a reason for each upvote and downvote.
- Voting many times for the same thing is allowed, though it is really recommended to spread your votes among many civs if possible otherwise things could get kind of annoying.
- Delete the previous voters comments, and indicate your comments in some way (bold, italicize, color, something that will draw attention)
- We only vote basing on CURRENT power of unique features based on MOST RECENT PATCH for Gathering Storm.

Feel free to rationalize your selections however you wish. For your rationale, you should include any aspect of the civilization/leader including unique infrastructure, units, or abilities.

Simón Bolívar/Gran Colombia [16] (15+1) Easily one of the best, if not the best domination civ in the game. The movement bonuses he receives are just insane and give you so much added maneuverability. His unique units are incredible as well.
Suleiman/Ottomans [15]
Tamar/Georgia [15]
Teddy Roosevelt/America [15]
Tomyris/Scythia [15]
Trajan/Rome [15]
Victoria/England [15]
Wilfrid Laurier/Canada [12] (15-3) His abilities make earlier game opportunism especially difficult. His unique unit is subpar for offensive purposes, and his unique culture improvement comes so late that it is relatively unimpactful in terms of getting more policy slots from governments. A very subpar leader/civ in general.
Wilhelmina/Netherlands [15]

Teddy Roosevelt/America [15]
Tomyris/Scythia [15]
Trajan/Rome [15]
Victoria/England [15]
Wilfrid Laurier/Canada [9] (12-3) The only civ with drawback towards domination victory. Only advantage I can see is that you can build up in peace which might rarely make a difference if you start off on deity right next to a very threatening enemy.

Simón Bolívar/Gran Colombia [17] [16+1] I promise to spread my vote around considerably but I may as well get this one out of the way. Stacking generals was nerfed ages ago for good reason. Now it's back. They even buffs ancient era units. Strong UU dances around enemy units, with up to 10 movement points. Heck, even my bombards were getting 6 movement at one point. Easy peasy.
Suleiman/Ottomans [15]
Tamar/Georgia [15]
Teddy Roosevelt/America [15]
Tomyris/Scythia [15]
Trajan/Rome [15]
Victoria/England [15]
Wilfrid Laurier/Canada [6] (9-3) The worst civ in the game can't even move a city state out of the way. Their UU builds national parks.

Matthias Corvinus/Hungary [16] (15+1) Matthias is a fun leader to work with, and this is the only civ for which I would consider starting Amani as my first governor. With a quick suzerain, you can secure your hold on a city state by levying their units, and they will usually be sufficient to take at least one city (especially if you time it for an early swords rush) and win an early war with your bonuses, and you have no need to worry about the units surviving (it's often better for them not to). Then you can rinse and repeat, moving Amani in and out of various city states plus levying to keep buying more suzerainity and conquering more cities.

Trajan/Rome [15]
Victoria/England [15]
Wilfrid Laurier/Canada [3] (6-3) I really wanted to pick someone else, but literally every civ is more adapted to Domination. Canada is unique to play, and while not powerful, I don't mind how they have been implemented much. This vote is really like handling the Kongo in a Religious Victory elimination thread.
Wilhelmina/Netherlands [15]

Alexander/Macedon [16] (15+1) Easy science, easy healing, easy eurekas and inspirations, two great unique units... sounds like a winner.

Wilfrid Laurier/Canada [eliminated] (3-3) In the spirit of people upvoting a bunch of domination civs in the old Diplomatic Victory thread I'd love to give him an upvote - after all, Wilfrid's about as good at domination as Genghis is at Diplomacy - but I'll save us all the trouble and give him the boot. Moderator Action: Eliminated in post 6, that was quick lol --NZ

Simón Bolívar/Gran Colombia [18] (17+1) There's no way they don't win this. Movement bonus + CG + GG stacking leads to a hilariously broken civ.

Kristina/Sweden [12] (15-3) None of her abilities help a Domination game except maybe the extra Great Scientist Points from Universities, and that's a reach. By building the Queen's Bibliotheque you are precluded from building the Grand Master's Chapel, Intelligence Agency, or Foreign Ministry, all of which can help you with Domination. She's not as bad as Canada, but there's nothing extra here to help you.

Suleiman/Ottomans [16] (15+1) Powered-up siege units are everywhere: I just wrecked cities. Defeated cities are then easier to hold because of the increased Loyalty and the +1 Amenity, and more productive because of the lack of population loss, so your new cities can join your war effort quickly and start pumping out Janissaries. Finally, the Serasker promotion on the unique Governor is just silly good.

Except maybe "plus 1 housing from ikanda"... which is a unique Encampment

Matthias Corvinus/Hungary [17] (16+1) His bonus seems situational at first, but it's actually pretty easy to find enough gold (given how easy trading with the AI is) and the right city-state to levy from. The movement bonus is massive, city-states will always have good troops no matter what era, and having lots of suzerainships in general is pretty powerful.

Jayavarman/Khmer [12] (15-3) I’ve never been able to get his unique unit to work. And his bonuses are not great. At least extra culture or science helps keep your units modern. Khmer has none of this.
John Curtain/Australia [15]
Kristina/Sweden [7] (6+1) I’ll give her a little boost. Her unique units are fantastic for domination. When do you need extra combat bonus when standing still? How about whenever you have a city under siege? It’s not a small bonus either.

Robert the Bruce/Scotland [9] (12-3) I'm pretty sure my favourite civs are all the worst at domination. Scotland I enjoy playing but they don't want war weariness and with highlanders being as weak as they are, they're essentially a vanilla civ in domination.

Suleiman/Ottomans [17] [16+1] The domination meta changed with the nerf to Cavarly units and resource management. In come the Ottomans, with the ability to overcome increasingly tough city defenses thanks to a unique governor that buffs your city assaults from long range. The only civ to get bonus production to siege units with an extra +5 thrown in there for good measure. They trivialize taking city centers, which I find a tougher challenge than killing units. They can also keep cities with no loss to pop, +1 amenity, and +4 loyalty. The Janissary is a top tier unit - strong, guaranteed promo, can upgrade to them. They're also half cost - so those cities you just took that didn't lose population can easily bolster your reserves and keep the steamroll going. Even the Bazaar supports prolonged wars with additional strategics and amenities. If you're going to only be good at one thing, be really good at it.

Matthias Corvinus/Hungary [18] - Even with the upgrade nerf, he's still pretty nuts. There's a little bit of RNG, but it's still pretty likely to meet at least 1 CS first for the free envoy, and then suzerainship and home continent domination to follow. On top of that, he can take out a second continent without moving a single troop across the sea (assuming there's any CS's left standing when he discovers it).
