Domination

When u start a normal game and leave domination as one of the possible victory conditions the default number for cities that you can lose is set at one. So if u lose one city u are out of the game. I've been changing it to 6, so that u are eliminated if u cannot prevent the loss of 6 of your cities.

What setting do u use there if u leave domination as one of the possible victory conditions?

My most recent game I removed domination as a means of winning. I have taken 15-20 English cities and still England lives on...think I prefer it the earlier way.

Domination is not a function of cities lost. It requires that you have 66% of the land and 66% of the pop. What you were seeing is Elimination. In that condition if you lose any town, you are eliminated.


Without elimination, you only need to retain 1 town to stay in the game.

yea you are thinking of elimination. Elimination games can require a whole new style of play, scince you need to keep every city you build.
