Don Quijote rules the world - SG for RFC

Is it me or does Nody tend to desert succession games without notice? (This might be the 2nd or 3rd time he's done it)

Turn 0 Minor adjustments.

Turn 1 We are selected to the Apostolic Palace. We steal Corporation from England, after which I switch espionage towards Greece. Another Great Scientist is born in Berlin and after doing some math I choose to build an Academy in Santiago (it will pay itself back in ~78 turns).

Greece has an OMG Look what happened! -thread city.

Turn 2 We research Electricity, next Radio in 5 turns. Madrid starts to build Wembley (12 turns).

Turn 3 Greece is teching towards Chemistry, which is great for us. Apparently Byzantion is the best place for us to steal stuff. Greece is building the Statue of Liberty in Athens (14 turns), so we should be able to beat them to it by using our Great Engineer as a boost. Our Great Spy infiltrates Byzantion and three spies land there. I whip buildings in the low production cities.

Turn 4 Ethiopia respawns and America is born.

Turn 5 America and Ethiopia vassalise to Rome. Cadiz begins to build the Stock Exchange. Great Spy is born in Santiago, it heads towards Greece, who is teching Steam Power now!

Turn 6 America flips Philadelphia and England/Mali declare war on Rome/Portugal/America/Ethiopia.

Turn 7 We research Radio, next Mass Media for one turn. Rosario begins to build the Christo Redentor (15 turns, which reduced to 12 via chopping). Quivira begins to construct the Eiffel Tower (8 turns) and queques Graceland (9 turns). Whipping.

Turn 8 We infiltrate Greece again and steal Chemistry and Democracy, one spy fails, but we had a spare one. Greece will get Steam Power in 2 turns, so I run 80% science and 20% espionage. I trade some old techs (Liberalism, Economics, Communism) around for a total of 1850 gold to compesate our gpt losses. We have 2823 gold and are making -297gpt. We should be able to steal SP in ~3 turns. I switch Mass Media (3 turns left) to Biology (4 turns). Madrid switches Wembley to SoL.

Turn 9 Another Great Scientist is born. No use to bulb Fission with it, so it is spared. More whipping.

Turn 10 America takes Fort Albany from England. I partly rush the Statue of Liberty, so that it will be done in 4 turns, Greece has 6 turns left. I switch espionage back to 0%.

Notes and suggestions:

-Russia has just settled California, but we can still settle Los Angeles. Settler is quequed in Veracruz.
-Another settler is ready to settle Santiago de Chile after the Christo Redentor is finished in Rosario and we switch to State Property. We should discuss what other civics we'll adopt.
-We should be able to steal Steam Power in one turn, however, we can also wait 2 turns, so that our spy's stationary bonus is full.
-We have to take the Philippines from Japan and Austria from Rome. Our armies and some navy have been gathered in North America, so we can blitzt US (raze Washington and keep Philadelphia, Fort Albany) and take the troops to Europe quickly to fight Rome. Some of them could be taken to Philippines as well. However, we need to build some troops in Europe first, and get Infantry.
-Our navy is generally quite lacking and doesn't fulfill the requirements, so we should focus on that as well.

So it seems you're intent on erasing America. You really need to maintain your stability high then. The fact that Russia built Vancouver (or Portland) means that there will always be a chance for America to respawn even when Russia is solid.

American settlers will no doubt go across from Fort Albany to flank your other cities. Declare war before that happens.

It's about time you take on Rome. Involving France and Greece in the war might be good too.

Well, guess I'm up. I'll be able to play on thursday or friday, so if anyone wants to play before me, go ahead.

If that's not the case, i'll post a plan later.

Definately Nationhood for stability and the ability to draft rifles in Amsterdam. Possibly Theocracy as well (after most of the factories are done) and eventually emancipation. Police State is a must as soon as we discover Fascism / it'sone of the rules + the stability boost.

Our army is big enough, it is our navy that needs a bit of work. We don't really need either the ability to draft troops or the ability to give them +2 experience from Theocracy at the moment.

I agree that we don't need Theocracy, but we could adopt Nationhood with Police State for stability reasons.

Plan for the set:

Cities to settle:
Guess we want to wait till we have state property to settle new cities? Is that right? We could go on a settling spree after that, so I could leave some settlers ready for the next player, what sites do you guys suggest?

Civics:
Adopt SP when CR is ready.

I think we should wait until we have police state to switch to nationhood, no point doing it earlier (but we have to do it because of variant rules).

Should we switch from HR and slavery? I think we have the happiness potential to adopt Universal Suffrage for some turns before police state. Representation would be better, but it would destroy our stability, I suppose. About slavery, I prefer to stay in it.

Techs:
Biology > Medicine > Mass media

After discovering medicine, I'll delete a lot of useless palgue fodder units

Wars:
Should we attack the US on my turnset? Since they are Roman vassals, that will mean declaring on Roma, Ethiopia and Portugal too.

If we want to do it, what cities should I keep, what should I raze? We could leave America with one of its cities, maybe they don't collapse and we stay safe from they respawning?

Great People:
We have two GSci, what to do with them? We could save one for a golden age, the other could build an Academy in Nueva Iberia, what do you guys think?

NO MORE CITIES FOUNDED UNTIL YOU GET MEDICINE/FASCISM/COMMUNISM!

One more city means 10% more expensive tech. You desperately need more tech than anything else.

You have to raze Washington but keep Philadelphia.

Start the GA when you ready to found new cities, to buffer your stability.

It will stay in revolt for a period of time. It is necessary to deal with America. It is unnecessary to found new cities of our own choosing.

Okey, so it is time to rearrange the list of players:

Old list:
Spoiler :
1. Ororo
2. blizzrd
3. nody
4. Ichabod
5. Jusos2108
6. Kurokami
7. Science Rules

Updated NEW list:

1. Ororo
2. blizzrd
3. Ichabod (skipped)
4. Jusos2108
5. Kurokami (skipped)
(Extra: Science Rules, out indefinetly)

So it is Ororo's turn!

Thanks for the update jusos, I was getting a bit lost with where things were at.

Kurokami hasn't posted for 12 days in this thread. I'm not certain that he is actually following and if he is he certainly isn't contributing much to discussion.

Ororo, if you're able, I'd suggest that anytime you're ready you could probably take the next turn set. This is going to really start to drag otherwise.

Wow, I didn't expect so many people skipping their set. I am too unable to play my set as I have to write an extended essay by the end of the next week. This includes reading 4 books on Nazi law.

Okey, so I guess we'll wait for whoever (Ichabod, Ororo, Kurokami, Science Rules) is able to play next. Post here before you start your set, so that there isn't any confusions.
