Dont patch with Windows 7

Hi all!
New to Civ 4 - just installed on my laptop which has Windows 7.

The install immediately pops up with "there are known issues with this operating system".
Fine. installed and ran the game. No probs so far.

I then installed the latest patch 1.74.
The game instantly crashes when you try to load after installing this patch.

If install the vanilla, unpatched version, it works fine.
So DON'T patch with Windows 7!

Try installing Civ 4 into it's own folder, e.g. C:\GAMES\CIV4. There are permission issues in the default folder c:\program files or the (x86).

I patched with Windows 7 and nothing happened...so I don't know why you have that error.
