A second Idea is to give certain civilisations a discount on certain religions founding cost. For example, Indians should have a 50% discount on founding Hinduism allowing them to have a much higher chance of founding the religion which is historacly correct.

Perhaps every civilisation should have at least one religion founding bonus, preferably unique to get a more autentic game

so - you guys think i should reduce the cultural level ingame? i can do this.

i read that ther might be a multiplayer problem with patch 3/13,

could any of you guys can see if its true?? perhaps run a few turns just to see if its ok? cause i dont want my mod not to work on mp...
 
i'd stay away from that one for now, radical shift in game play - too many other balances and bugs to be worked out. personally I think more than half of the religions should be founded on random events.
 
The culture is done okay with fex-speeds.
It's about founding more then 4 religions in one country.
There is religion mod(from Eusebius) available for warlords where prophets can found a religion.
Perhaps this one is nicer than giving al religions to the tech leader.

Some randomness might be nice, but making it totaly random will turn the game into a bingo system where luck is all that counts. THe trick is to find a balance between luck and skill.

For example, we could make it so that civilisation with high accumulated culture have a higher chance of founding a religion then civilisations with low accumulated culture. This way, a player can never 100% count on founding a religion, but a player can defenitly improve his chanses, by being the first one to discover the pre required technology requirement and invgenerate a lot of culture.
 
prophets found religion?

can be nice, but what happens if you wont get a prophet in a while? can take ages to get religions..

random event sounds better, but still.....

well demon if you can set some system..it can revolutioonize the game in the religious aspect.

I wouldn't call it a radical shift, more like a fix to an existing balance problem with founding religions. The problem is caused by the fact that there are additional religions in the mod and they are all discovered by similar techs. As a result, there is a very high chanse that one player can found most of the religions, which is highly unrealistic.
 
i cant do somthing else,

not sure if it would work,
but in the tech xml file, for each tech, theres a tag - <aiweight>
i read that it dfines the importance of the spesiphic tech to the ai,
so,
maybe i cant give some more points to the religious tech - so the ai will consider them more important and learn them first,

in version 1.4, someone reported to me that the ai wont learn much alphabet,
so, i added points to the aiweight, not sure if it acctually affect, but i can try it and see how it works.

or you guys can ad like 5-10 points manually in your techtreeinfos.xml file and see what happens.

if it does affect, it may solve the problem for the human player to learn most religions (if any).
 
My idea is the original seven religions or perhaps six you discover by research.
the others( new religions of the mod) can be founded by a great prophet or by a random event in a country with much culture and not founded an religion at that moment.

That is the right idea for me, every civs must have a discount for some tech.
I choose english becouse i like to control the world with culture, ships and planes, most then with tanks.
Western civs can have a discount on western religion. paganism is a term which, from a Western perspective, has come to connote a broad set of spiritual or cultic practices or beliefs of any folk religion, and of historical and contemporary polytheistic religions in particular.
Starting with paganism and then choose monoteistic is a path that is related to western culture mostly.
Sterting with paganism and follow the polyteistic one will open other paths.
The term "pagan" is a Christian adaptation of the "gentile" of Judaism, and as such has an inherent Christian or Abrahamic bias, and pejorative connotations among Westerners, comparable to heathen, and infidel, mushrik and kafir in Islam.
For me the religion tree have to be always in tech tree but with a personal path and only some common paths with other tech.
developing religion is a different task from alphabet.
so if i choose english, buddism have to be a hard discover for me.
 
alot of the units there, i have in my mod, alot of them....

on version 1.6 i added 20 or so unit graphics.

i wish i saw this mod two days ago.

i will include units from there for vertion 1.7.

That bug i said to you some days ago continues in 1.6 version. Look at the print! No number of workers to Isralel's cities...

For now, just that. I just start play the new version. I didnt instal the new patch of civ.

One sugestion... You could include in ur mod the leaders Hiroshito and Hitler. I like to shoot them! :-) You can find this leaders in "Extra" mod.

about patch 3.13

i understand that the mod is making problems with multiplayer games,
i must further confirm this, cause im an mp fan, and for now,
i wont start modding it to patch 3.13,
both because of this thing and cause i wanna rest a week or so after working hard on the mod.

i uploaded a small patch - it fixes the native american uu,
and add upkeep to some mercs i forgot bout.

i played v 1.6, and i dunno why the ai (in noble) is abit boring.......does nothing,
so i decided to make my ai to be more war mongering and more aggressive.
so ill start a patch for this - patch b. ill upload it soon.

i think the current merc system makes the ai to be week in tech -it builds mercs but i think it draw its science back cause he doesnt learn too fast (*to say the least)
so i think the solution is simple - to add the resource need basis to the mercs,
so the ai wont buy them like a nut job....

also will be availble in the patch a better 2000 speed (less slow tech reserch.

Hey Keldath! Maybe the problem is just with me?! (The missing workers for israelit cities... if nobody else report to you)

I have one more "bug", one question and one sugestion! :-)

Screen 1 - The Bug - like you can see, i have shinto religion and the native americans too, but the event is saying that i have Taoism... I remeber that another guy report this to you few days ago... Not a very important bug... ;) Just to you know about! :D

Screen 2 - The question - look the mercenaries... They are purple when are not select! Why??? :-) This is normal? Or a problem?

Screen 3 - The sugestion - Take a look in the description of the unit (Hypashpst - in the midlle of the screen) in the left side of the screen. This promotion is terrible. It makes the screen too full of unecessary information (why say to me that is -15% for all that defenses??? I really dont care! :D). In a stack this is terrible, once that you cant see all the units... In this case, you almost cant see of whom the unit is (in case, its from Portugal - You can see this information under the treasury value). So my sugestion is that you take off this promotion or, at least, take off all that "ugly" lines talking about the promotion. ;) And the AI loves this promo. It always choose it! What is bad for it, once that is easy to kill his units when they are invading ur country... ;)

I saw it also in my current game, Israel city's not showing the size of the city (a minor problem).
You are not the only one with this bug.
