Doto [AdvCiv ModMod]

Keldath,

Sorry I didnt see your post earlier. I could have told you. But you can also check all that out in this save game.

I've got a game stopping crash. When you click "Enter" to start the next turn, the game will crash on you. Restarting has not relieved it so it is something that is happening as the next turn executes.

Hope you can find it.

Uhm...thats why I loaded up the save game. That last save was after I applied the patch.
If the game is broken, then I will restart.

Did you check the save to see what the error was?

I got CTD... hmmm.....

I will turn Civ Barb on to see if it will change anything

Keldath,

Beyond the occasional CTD, I'm not having any real issues yet.

One irritation I am having though with map creation:

I play single player custom games. I use the Planet_Generator_68 map script.
Every game I've played on this map, it seems most of the planet is marshland with very little forest cover. I am wondering if the codes for these terrains are mixed up. Might want to give a check just to be sure.

For some time already most of "AND" affiliated mods and moddmods do not update mapscripts or do not do new, own version of those. IT should be said that most of new stuff suggests using Archipelago maps. It mostly related . to my knowledge, to the lack of new resources and so on. I noticed that even if I want sneaky continents I am always getting regular archipelagos.
So to make it easy - go with default.

No CTD so far after I turn off or on , whatever, BarbCivs ....

Keldath,

I wish I could give better feedback, but I've had one simple problem in all of my games;

None of the AI can handle raging barbarians.

I have this option checked as a way to get my great generals experience points early. And where you need alot of exp to level them up, I put them on "Raging". I can hold my own fairly well early on. When I build the Great Wall, things are infinitely easier. I would then do open borders with another nation and place my great general there to gain exp on barbarians that plague them.

However, in all the games I have played, the barbarians overwhelm the AI civs and stunt their development. It's happened quite often when I would come upon another civ that has ten barbarian archers range bombarding their city or cities (great exp for a general). All of their land improvments would be destroyed.

The net result is that I would win a Mastery Victory before I even reach the Renaissance Era. Sometimes, I would just barely be making it to eh Medival Era. I am not sure what you can do to improve the AI chances of survival.

I usually play on Pangea Maps, Large World, on Warlord Level. Warlord maybe easy for most, but it's the best option when you want to check out all the new mod components and see how they work.

Will bump up the difficulty level and see if that helps the AI survive.

hey people,

About map creation, well i saw some stuff ill change
- less marsh and such.
- change a lot of the bonus appearance - i dont like the current deployment.
- ill try to make some new map scripts to use the added bonuses.

Jennvare,
don't be sorry, im thankful for every feedback, even if its not good.

i actually agree with you, raging barbs sometimes cripples the ai, and i dont like it, so i play without it, this is how civ is built, noty mod (i think),
maybe this can be compensated by giving cities on game start a larger percentage of city defense ? what do you think bout this? the ai wouldn't loose cities fast this way?

****
i keep working on this version, i update regularly the dll and the mod keeping pace with a new dawn work.
also im taking notes in my own game.
keep supplying feedback's so i can better balance.

thank you all.

Well.... here is my feedback: ...............sorry too busy playing my favorite capo dei capi of mods.
... but some nice mapscripts would be welcome. What would you suggest to play with right now? I am curious about the change regarding bonuses placement. Rarity or, let say, climatological zones placement gives me more "stimulation" to go and conquer.
I like to play with pesky barbs but in one of my last short games I found after a bout 500 turns that I am alone on the globe..... so i started new one ... and stopped playing with ranging.
Larger defense at the begging? How will I clean my continent/island in few initial turns to gain advantage of bigger "life space" for future domination?! That will make my game harder and my life more difficult!!! Sweeeet... I like it! Another reason to get quicker Iron tech and "axe" my way trough the universe! Well, at least the Earth for a starter.

Did you know that the axe is a perfect tool to slice the loaf of bread? You can get up to two pieces if you are lucky and skilled...... can't spread the butter tho...

krushyn,
hey,
well -i updated the map scripts in my new version, i used all the rise of mankind map script - so,
now the maps should work better.

also - im working on adapting a standard earth map that will work with the mod!

we need to think about how to prevent the barbarians to attack the ai so much,
maybe i can make that every barb unit cannot capture a city?

hehe never tried to cut bread with an axe, ill take your word for it, although i got a machete at home, im sure i can spread butter with it :)

Aside from getting a CTD that I was able to get past, I had to abort the game because after I loaded a save, my settler unit suddenly could no longer found a city. The button for it was no longer shown nor was the potential city radius shown. This is with your latest update. I was able to found cities prior to loading this save.

Blue Senshi, helllo,

check to see if you have the first civic of the first category - i cant remember its name - but it has a limitation on city build that does exactly what you describe.

you have a ctd with the patch?

ill upload a new version in a few days.

Ah, I see that you are right. Thanks. I thought something like that might have been the case but I knew I didn't change any settings, etc so I couldn't understand why it was suddenly happening.

Yes, the CTD happened after your patch. CTDs are something I used to get when playing AND. Eventually I would always run into a game ending CTD with that mod so I had to give up playing it.
