Downloading Help

Do any of you kind people feel like telling me where I can download mods/scenarios/etc. for mac, or are they just the same as th windows ones? Thanks.

Civ3 v1.29b2 on the Mac will run any set of mod files that's compatible with version 1.29f for Windows. It won't run PTW or C3C mods.

The only caveat is that the mod files may come in an installer that will only run on a PC. In that case you'll have to find a way to extract the mod files and transfer them to the Mac. In some cases that may require a PC or VirtualPC. However, I found that the Double Your Pleasure mod, although it comes in a Windows self-extracting installer, can be unzipped by Stuffit Expander, so it's possible other such installers may work that way as well.

Once you have a file set, I have a small utility that will put the mod files in the right places in your Mac OS X Civ3 folders. Follow the installers link in my sig.

Thanks Mac Addict, big help, but.......ummm.... where on your sig is the link I have to go to??? And also, if you would be so kind, is it possible to carry on the game after 2050? It is realy pissing me off not being able to play on and I havn't been able to find out how to change it.

Dunno. What happens after 2050 AD? You should have defeated or dominated the rest of the world by then Personally, I try to finish games by 1000 AD. But then I have other things to do

I think I read somewhere that you could say "Lemme play a few more turns ..." at the 2050 game end, but the date and score don't advance any further? I do know that the 2050 end date is hard coded into the software, so there's no way other than a coding hack that you could make the full game continue past that date.
