Downloading scenarios, maps, mods for civ 5: Where to put the stuff on a Mac?

I emailed you some things i think might be the problem. Can you give me a link on how to enable the mods menu? The one above take m e to perfect world mod

EZ7z is just a compress/expand utility. It doesn't know anything about Civ5 or Worldbuilder or your Mods menu. All you need it to do is to open the downloaded file and extract the compressed files from it.

The clue may be in the name of the file you tried to drop onto EZZ7 - "downloads.php.civ5mod". It may not be the actual file, perhaps just a shortcut to the online file? The file that downloads for me from that Download File link is called "Terra Incognita.Civ5Mod"

What browser are you using to download it? I used Safari, right clicked the link and selected "Download Linked File". That put Terra Incognita.Civ5Mod.txt into my Downloads folder. The file is 10.1 KBytes in size, last modified 29 September 2010.

Alan,

I couldnt find the external hardrive (for some reason it was checked off in a preferences box and hasnt appeared even though i checked the box)

But my mac os x is version 10.6.3, with a 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor, with a 2 GB 1067 MHz DDR3 Memory

Question: After you download, do you open finder and drap-and-drop from the finder or do something else?

also, i did recearch on the error message, and found this:

i didnt understand most of what the people were talking about but i hope u do lol

After you downloaded EZ7z, you had a disk image file called 'eZ7zv1.93.dmg'? I assume you double clicked that and found the EZ7z application inside. You have to copy that across to /Applications/ It will not work if you run it directly from within the disk image.

Yes, I drag and drop the downloaded file from the Downloads folder in Finder to the black window.

I'm not surprised you didn't understand those links. They are not in any way related to EZ7z. One is for a Linux utility and the other is incomprehensible.

Why are you trying to look at the external hard drive, and where is the checkbox that you are looking at?

Why isn't your Mac at the latest version of OS X? I recommend running Software Update and getting the current version 10.6.6. However, I doubt if this is related to your problem.

I always use safari as my browser
