Dr Alimentado vs anarres

meh - I resign. The glorious and honorable Mongols recognise the futility of fighting and declare themselves pacifists.

Rather than submit a single one of our Mongol citizens to be under the tyranical rule of the Spanish we have decided to die with honour. It is worth noting that a Mongol has never been under Spanish rule, and this is the way it will be, for eternity.

NO SURRENDER! OUR DEATHS SERVE AS AN EXAMPLE OF SPANISH BRUTALITY - WE HOPE THAT THOSE WHO ARE ALREADY LOST TO THE SPANISH DICTATORS FIND PEACE IN THEIR PAINFUL LIVES

And there was rejoicing in the streets! The terrible war to end all wars was over, and with virtually no loss of life whatsoever to the proud victors :D

....In later years spanish historians would ponder the hows and whys of the terrible mongol mass extinction. At the time the general perception among the spanish public was that it was a great crime - carried out by a cruel and malicious whim of the defeated but prideful Annares Khan. Of course it had to be acknowledged that Spain's devestating nuclear attack had taken a grim toll on the Mongol empire, and the more thoughtful speculated that the Mongol psyche had just been unable to cope with the shock of the assault. They had been the technological leaders of the world right through the Industrial Age after all, and it was hard for the Mongols to even conceptualise that the Spanish would ever be able to damage them so significantly. Remember too that the Mongol-Spanish conflict had raged hot and cold for centuries without any significant civilian damage or territorial changes outside of the border regions.
This seemingly perpetual stalemate was however not to last. The last Mongol-Spanish peace treaty of 1300AD paved the way for the attack on, and collapse of, the Chinese bloc. The subsequent aquisition of china's territory and nuclear programme by spain had shifted the balance of power more significantly than the Mongols and perhaps even the Spanish themselves realised. The 100 years of 'uneasy' peace which followed led to an unprecedented burst of Spanish research and increased production to fully realise the devestating power of the atom. This was coupled with new advances in conventional weapons too, and although at peace both sides realised that even if war was not inevitable it was certainly extremely hard to avoid. Despite this archival records show the Mongols had hopes of completing an ambitious space-program during this period, but they had gravely miscalculated the new offensive capibilities of the Spanish empire.....
