Driving stick shift vs. automatic

I've been driving for about a year and a half now, and thus far I have only driven in automatic cars.

I would like to learn manual however, as I hear it isn't that difficult.

Manuals IMHO are better than Autos in a big city. If your foot is getting tired put the car into nuetral and wait till you feel its going to start moving again...or quit being a pansy

But ya I am all about fuel efficiency now...if my leg has to be tired then so be it...I'm not spending $50,000 on a hybrid or on a new car with an Auto in it.

but thats another thing...when a car is an auto it tends to have more moving parts thus more frequent break downs than lets say a manual...
