3000 BC - Memphis is founded and begins to train a militia to defend the young settlement.
2950 BC - Our troops explore the land to the north and south.
2900 BC - Research is set to 100%, cutting time for the Wheel to 11 turn
2850 BC - there are wild rice fields on the northern slope of the mountains in the north, maybe the area will proove habitbale.
2800 BC - Thebes sends out another group of settlers, they wander southeast to settle further downstream on the Nile river. Our Warrior troop in the south sends news of a strange climbing vine they found. It has nourishing fruits whose juice can be turned into an alcoholic beverage that lightens the heart. They also encoutered many wild beasts in the forests, so this area could probably feed many people.
2750 - nothing new
2710 BC - the defence of Memphis is secured. The town now starts gathering material and people to settle the fertile lands to the north. Our trops in the north meet strange people who call themselves Aztecs. They carry sticks with strings attached to them, with which they can fire sharpened sticks at animals - and humans!

But they proove friendly, and agree to teach us about their strang weapons if we teach them how to erect stone buildings. The secret of making tools from metal they keep to themselves.
2670 BC - Helipolis is founded at the meeting of the Nile and another river

lol: - if my geography teacher would read this he'd faint - would serve the bastard right

), an excellent defence position, and a trading base of incredible value. Wild men in the mountains in the north are willing to teach us about the metal tools they stole from the Aztecs.
2630 BC - the Iroquese are too poor to offer anything in exchange for our knowledge.
2590 BC -
2550 BC -
2510 BC - a group of settlers leaves Thebes for the secluded valley to the south, where they plan to optimize our rice planting techniques.
2470 BC -
2430 BC - we have to find a way to improve communications in our growing empire. Some wise men suggest transfering news via smoke or flag signals, but the suggestion of using marks on clay or stone pieces has the advantage of keeping the message for long times. The wise are asked to take a closer look.
2390 BC - nothing new
2350 BC - a wild tribe in the norht, near rthe Aztecs borders, has taught us the strange rites they have. interesting, now we can learn to predict the future from smoke coming out of the air. but we will have to construct a religious building in a suitable town, a socalled Oracle. Elephantine, the rice-capital is founded.
2310 BC -
2270 BC - a group of settlers leaves Memphis for the norht. they plan to settler at the foot of the mountains. A troop of Warriors accompanies them.
2230 BC -
2190 BC - a troop of settlers leaves Thebes. They are told to head south towards Iroquesia as far as the hills at the isthmus. We must control that area if we want to be save from these people!
The blue X marks the settler ready to plunk down a city, the red X is a must build and probably best with the indicated settler. the size 2 borders show that with four forts (red fs) we could effectively close the Iroquese off - thus we can concentrate on other enemies first.
No such luck in the north, here, we should try to reach the plains near the Aztecs soon.
The yellow X down right is where I'd set another city, the exact placement of the second (X?) being dependent on what terrain is still hidden under the shadow
X1? would give us access to the western ocean, but we can take our time there. Simply put a Warrior on the tile to block it and then we can send a settler there later.
The main direction of expansion should be towards the north. Then, we can
gobble up the Iroquese anytime it is convenient (especially if they throw their offensive troops against our forts first

)
