Dumb question about changing fonts

C2C is installed in:

H:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos
Path is bit lengthy, change Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword to just Civilization IV.

If i do that, Steam completly re Downloads the Game because it cant find the exe anymore

I try it with a custom Location now

Edit: Cant do that because i cant add a new Library Folder to this Drive because it already has one (the other Drives are all HDD and i dont want to use those because the Loading TIme gets way too long with C2C and HDD).

I just stop now, the Game runs fine and all seems to work, its not worth the hassle

but thx anyway :)

That path is not too long.

Since he is using v38.5 he must not delete the UserSettings folder as that version of C2C cannot recreate the folders, only later SVN version can do that.
However, inside the UserSetting folder there can be a file called "BUG Main Interface.ini" which, if it was created without PPIO, should be deleted if it's there before playing with PPIO.

Other than that, changing fonts and font sizes should be as easy as editing:
H:\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Mods\Caveman2Cosmos\Resource\Theme\C2CTheme_Custom.thm

Serif type fonts are mostly the only fonts that have all the symbols that the game require, using the correct name for the font in the .thm file can be tricky to get right in some cases.
The font must be installed on your system for the game to find it.
Some font types simply don't work at all, and the game will revert to a default system font.
Try first to change all the font sizes to 24 just to check if the editing is actually working for you, it should be obvious in game if you did it correctly..

Is that true? What is it about serif type fonts that makes this the case?
Maybe not entirely...
When I tested all the different standard windows fonts in C2C, I noticed that most of them were missing glyphs, don't remember which ones, the missing glyphs appear as a big square in game that is higher than it's wide.
I may have made a connection that wasn't there regarding the serifs typefonts, just a vague feeling I got afterward.

Instead of mentioning serifs I should have just said that most fonts doesn't have a complete set of glyphs, especially where unicode characters outside the regular alphabet is involved, to satisfy the need of the game.

Are there any specific unicode characters the game needs to display, besides the standard ones?
