I am pretty new in this section, so I hope this is the correct place to post this thread. :)

I have been playing this on-line game for close to 4 months now and I have been paid twice already for a total of about $22. I recently bought Civilization IV complete on Steam for 10 euros with the money I made by playing this game.

Dungeons and Treasures is an on-line game where your main objective is to collect gold pieces. (points in other games) There are several ways of collecting gold: treasure hunting, visiting dungeons and finding treasure chests The game is divided by quests, every 1st of the month a new quest begins and everybody stats at level 1 with 500 gold pieces. The first day you have to buy some weapons and visit you daily free dungeon. Inside the dungeon you kill or capture monsters, you gain experience and you find gold, weapons, potions and chest keys.

With experience comes higher levels, more difficult monsters and bigger treasures on the treasures chests. Some people get frustrated after playing the first levels because you collect so little gold, but in the higher levels you can collect a lot more gold.

Every end of the month the gold you have collected is converted into real cash. Around $1 per 400000 gold coins you have collected during the month. If you think 1 free dungeon per day is not enough for you, you can buy dungeons and upgraded memberships status. I use to buy some with the money I make playing the previous month.

The only problem of the game, apart from the not very good graphics, is that there is not a good guide about how to play it. That's why I made this webpage, http://urederra.info/ to teach you guys/gals how to play the game. I also have mapped most of the dungeons and I have a nifty dungeons map browser that can help you finding the map of your dungeon. The link to the game is in my site too. :)

Give it a shoot, you will like it. and you can make some cash. :)

A little update:

I had 2 payments since I opened this thread. This is my last payment. :)

With those ones I have more than enough to buy me Civ V.

so essentially, we play a piece of crap game for a month, and make a little money... i could just get a job, you know.

I have a job, thanks. :)

The game is not crap. If you don't like it, then don't play. But you don't have to be rude. :(

Unless you get paid to be rude. :P

fair enough... it's just it wouldn't be the first time someone with a relatively low post count, and something to gain, has come on here and promoted a game. i just don't quite understand the premise - how can this game possibly make money? i am sure it wouldn't get enough subscibers... the amount of subscribers is always directly proportional to the total number of players for any of these games, an i can't see the profits outweighing the costs. so where does the money come from?? spammy advertising? trojan downloaders?

I assumed this was a spambot when I saw this.

Still, please note this section is for games.

And it is a game, and an adventure/strategy one. So. unless the mods think otherwise. I think it it ok to post it here.

If they decide to lock or remove my post, I'll be fine too. Like the other post says, It is not a lot what you make with this game, yet, it was enough for me to buy Civilization IV complete and have some extra cash to spare. :)

Its not necessariliy a scam/malicious, they could be making money with the banners, even if they end up using 99% of the banner revenues to pay out "bonuses" to players they can en up making millions if enough people join.

Of course they could also be stealing your info and selling it to the Russian mob (if they are not the Russian mob themselves :p)

This looks to be a pyramid scheme. According to this source, you get 1$ for every 344819.78 gold. You also get a percentage of the gold earned by players you refer to the game. Hence
the recruitment post here.

If they pay out with money they earn from Banners its not a real pyramid scheme.

It they are using money that they gained by by recruiting new people then its a pyramid scheme.

So they send you a check in the mail?

Let me know when your mailbox is filled with spam every single day. I'd almost guarantee they're selling your e-mail, address, etc to IRL spammers.

Hi Feanor, :)

They are not Russian, they are French. The game is just a translation of their first version in french. dojons-tresors. The French version does have banners to click and stuff. The English version doesn't have banners yet.

I don't know what info they may steal from you. I didn't signed up with my primary e-mail address, and the name I used to sign up wasn't my real one. ;) Actually, they just ask for the same kind of info you need to sign up into civfanatics. and they don't have any way to check if you are a guy or a gal. So, you can say whatever you want.

You don't have to pay anything to play, so no credit cards are required. The only thing you need is an alertpay or paypal account. You can also create one just for get paid.

As I said, you don't have to pay to play. But some people like the game and they think that just 1 free (as in free beer) dungeon per day is not enough, so they buy more. That is they way they make money. But I insist, you don't have to pay to play and to get paid.

They pay by paypal, alertpay, allopass (a french on-line paying processor) and now that I am looking, they also can pay you by check if you want. But I don't recommend it since in some countries you may have to pay a fee to get the check processed. :)

I am not receiving any mail from them. Spamming is penalized in France, http://spamlinks.net/legal-laws.htm#eu-fr Besides, I didn't use my primary e-mail address to sign up. The only mails I am receiving related to D&T is the 'You have money" ones from Paypal. :D

Anyway, May's quest is heading to an end and I have already collected 5.350.000 gold pieces. I expect to finish this month with close to 6 million gold pieces. If you apply the ratio Serutan wrote above, that would be around $17. :D By the time Civilization V hits the shops I will be able to buy it. If I use my paypal account and buy it on Steam, no credit card details will be needed.:lol::lol::lol::lol:

If the only way they make money is through payments of the players that buy "more dungeons'' so they can "earn more money" its quite literally a Ponzi scheme.

No it isn't.

First, because you can play and earn without investing. Investing is a must in any ponzi scheme.

And second, you don't 'invest'. You 'buy' dungeons and you play them. For $1 you can buy 17 new dungeons, and you play them. What do you 'play' when you invest in a ponzi scheme?

If you like comparisons, it is more like playing slot machines or video poker, only that you play a game rather than gamble your money, and when you play slots or poker you can win nothing. Here apart of winning gold (all dungeons have gold) you also are playing a game, as much fun as civilization, only that here you don't waste the time and you make nothing, you have fun and you earn money. :king:

Its not unlike dope dealers handing out free samples, they know that the most of those that try it will come back for more, only if you want more you'll have to pay.

"Buying" dungeons is exactly investing since thats the way you get to "earn money"

If you like comparisons, it is more like playing slot machines or video poker, only that you play a game rather than gamble your money, and when you play slots or poker you can win nothing. Ok, so its not exactly a Ponzi scheme, its more like a hybrid between a Ponzi Scheme and Illegal Gambling with just a little hint of Pyramid scheme to spice it up.

I wouldnt really care if it wasnt for the fact that its packaged as a seemingly child friendly videogame, which is just disgusting and pretty much like actually stealing candy from children.

Charging money for stuff in games like mmos and crappy browser stuff is like stealing candy from a child, possibly a mentally challenged child at times (in both the way it can be very hard to get the candy if the child is smart/stubborn, or very easy) and just plain wrong. Albeit probably good in the money making part of it since there are millions of people dumb enough to waste money on stuff like this (facebook apps, cloned crap mmos that are pumped out on a weekly basis in asia, etc).

LOL... you guys are funny.

First you guys said that the game developers are going to steal your credit card information and when I replied that you don't need any credit card to play the game and get paid, you guys just counter-attack saying that they are going to spam your mailbox with thousands of advertisement. Then I said you don't have to use your primary mail address to register and that I have not received any single spam mail from them. Then you come up with this drug dealing nonsense because although the game is free to play, you can buy extra dungeons if you like it. Does paying fifty bucks for a copy of Civilization V also fall into the drug smuggling business? What is going to be next? Accusing the developers of being pedophiles? :crazyeye:

I think at this point it is very clear that you haven't played the game and for some weird reason you enjoy criticizing games you have never played, even the ones that are free to play. How often do you do that? According to your post count, very often, I would say.

It is also clear that you guys want this thread to go off-topic and get locked, so from now on I won't reply posts of people who haven't played and have no intention to play.

And back on topic. May quest finished!!!!:dance::dance::dance:

Let me show you guys my final stats. :)

So, I crossed the 6 million barrier. That means I will get over $17 in a few days.:dance::dance:

D$T is the money I still have from the previous month. Usually I don't cash out all the money I earned during the previous month.

Rank: Viscount This is my rank. You start as a knight, the lowest rank. And once you have played enough to accumulate some cash in your balance, you can either cash out or buy some stars. Or you can also receive stars from a friend, I am giving away some stars for the ones who visit my place. http://urederra.info/ :scan:

I insist, although the ones who twist facts will never get it right. You will have 1 free dungeon a day and you don't have to spend your own pocket money to get stars. Once you have accumulated some cash in your balance by playing the free dungeons, you can either cash it out or buy some stars. You can buy 4 stars for 1 D$T and you will also get a higher rank and a better conversion for the gold you have accumulated.
Since I spent 5 D$T, (I insist again, from the money I accumulated in my previous games, NOT from my own pocket) my rank is viscount and my conversion for this month will be 20% higher. (I hope over $17 :king: ) You can buy 4 extra dungeons with 1 star or you can play other games with them.

You can also see the level I reached (level 56, I didn't play much this month, I still have many stars from last month) And the experience points I have to earn to get to level 57 (XP left 376) The highest level is 100.

And the last 3 numbers are the wounds I have (0) The remaining lives (2) And the progression points (6). Since the quest ended, there is no point spending progression points in raising my attack/defense skills. :)

Yesterday a new quest started, everybody starts again as knight with 500 gold pieces to buy weapons and a free dungeon again. I keep the starts I bought from last month and I spent 1 D$T to buy 4 stars and raise my rank to baron, which comes with 10% higher conversion for next month than knight and 1 extra game. Totally worth it if you accumulate more than 4 million gold pieces.

For more info visit my site. http://urederra.info/ and thanks for not trolling. :)

It's just that after so many years of gaming and trying "free stuff" online, you get really cynical about quality and catches. This game lights up all the red "stay away" warning lights for me, and it does for most of us here too apparently. On top of looking really unattractive. No one publishes a game like this one and gives out free money. This game wants to make money from players, like every other game company, and it being sold as the player actually making money is kind of iffy. Especially since seeing how the game looks, more time has been spent on designing a business model than an actual game. This is not trolling as much as being annoyed that once a week someone with a low post count comes up and sells us an unprofessional looking game with a korean-style-microtransaction-with-real-money-thing that no one has heard about and accuses us of trolling their thread when we're being cynical about it.

Have fun though.
