This is the WWII Europe Version 2 PBEM thread.

Haha, looks like we got in just before the rush!

email: eeline AT thehill DOT org

I will be able to play pretty much all the time, barring excessive school work or reasons of state ;p

GMT -5 if it helps

(Repeated from previous thread)

Checking to see if it works now. I believe that I installed a previous version, but I am unsure.

ok, resign here.

CET here, which is one hour ahead of GMT (GMT is for British Islands only, so you better start thinking CET as it has most rich Europeans).

If nobody is screaming for England, I could try that. If thats already claimed, I could take one for the team and play as France ;p

...before I said that, I checked the map to see if there is a bolthole for the government to run off to haha

Beirut, here I come! ;p

Yeah I would like to be a larger nation this time and in the last two scenarios I've been allied with Germany so its time to be on the other side... :)

Should already have my email address :p

We seem to have at least 2 people from England playing...

Hmm...

GMT - Greenwich Mean Time

CET - Central European Time

But we can go further more:

EST - Eastern Standard Time
CST - Central Standard Time
WST - Western Standard Time
MSK - Moscow Time
EET - Eastern Europe Time
AST - Atlantic Standard Time
MST - Mountain Standard Time
PST - Pacific Standard Time
AKST - Alaska Standard Time
HST - Hawaiian Standard Time
...

In spite of several different places of the globe use different time zones, there is a Coordinated Universal Time (UTC), and that is what match with the GMT.

Due to variations in the rotation of the earth, leap-seconds are occassionally added to keep UTC within one second of Greenwich Mean Time (GMT). Uniform time scales, such as International Atomic Time (TAI) and Terrestrial Time (TT), are also historically based on GMT, but are not kept synchronized with the earth's rotation, and thus increasingly diverge from UT. Many systems of decimal time, such as Modified Julian Dates and IAU format dates, use UT or uniform time scales.

The use of CET may be convenient in some part of Europe, but conflicts with the fact that Universal Time is already the international standard, and is reprented by GMT because that happens to be the time zone syncronized with it.

If any doubt on conversion, just use that:
http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/converter.html

But will be more easy if we all stick with the choosen measure - GMT.

Yama
P.S.: GMT is not for British Island only.

Btw, there is a method for every nation other than AMP and Sweden to get Golden Ages, (which last 12 months). Good luck finding them...if you are nice, maybe I'll give you hints ;)

I have sent out the planning letter. If anyone is completely unhappy with his nation, let me know now or suffer with it eternally.

Lovurly, I'm the Nazis...

haha, well, don't expect to find death camps; we intend to send every able bodied mammal to the front lines right from the start! ;p

Good luck everyone (esp me, since I am the super villain! haha)

Germany does not start out at war with France! This seems like it could possibly be an issue, since I intend to bomb the CR@P out of them!

I am trying to decide whether I should sign a treaty making them at war with the English for the heck of it ;p

The defacto rules require Germany to attack France on the first turn, in order to give France their 'war happiness' (what little they will have)...

You know that might not be a bad idea :p A British and German alliance to conquer the world?

Dell19, interesting idea, of course you are in a permanent war with Germany...

Although not stated before, some house rules need to be followed:
1. no giving cities that an ally could not occupy for himself (e.g. USSR giving a city in central Russia to England or Spain)
2. no razing cities (or abandoning them). If a city autorazes, Germany or USSR may build a settler to replace it. USSR may build settlers to create resistance cities in enemy territory or to replace razed cities. Germany may build settlers to replace razed cities only.
3. France may gift cities to England on the turn of peace or the turn after peace with Germany of those cities that are in Asia. These would represent Free-French cities. France may give them to AMP instead. France may not ever make peace with Germany, so this could be a mute point...
4. Submarines can not be seen, the AI will run into them by accident and declare war, so don't give them a reason to do so, unless you enjoy fighting the AI for stupid reasons.
5. Some techs are tradeable, but not all are tradeable.
6. You may give any techs you like to the AI, but you may not give them in exchange for MPP's or alliances (as per rule set above). If in alliance with the AI, you may give them techs.
7. Even if the AI is at war with your enemy, you may not initiate an alliance or MPP.
8. You ARE allowed to initiate RoP with the AI.

I made some last-minute tweaks to the map. You do not have to download the new map (since I, as the scenario starter, have the map that is to be used). Please note that aircraft (specifically fighters and jets) can see subs, destroyers can't, but asw destroyers can.

Is this a custom scenario or one of those included in c3c?

edit: Ah, saw the link in your sig now..

Ok...Plan 2. Dell19 will start the scenario. The order of play is Sweden, England, France, USSR, Germany, Spain, Italy, Allied Minor Powers. On the good side for AMP, they will not lose their first turn movement. Dell19 will use the admin pw I asked him to use and then will, I hope, destroy it and forget it.

Scenario started, the British evacuated northern France in the name of the PBEM...

2 German subs were sunk were sunk in the atlantic whilst another submarine in the north sea was sunk. Another destroyer was sunk around Norway. The Italians have been given a chance to decide whether to help contain the greatest threat to peace that Europe has seen or whether they will side with that evil empire.
