The 'van Oranje'/'of Orange' is merely a title (since he was prince of the city Orange in France) so it can be translated just fine. He was born as Wilhelm von Nassau.

Besides, this is an English game... We're not calling Alexander the Great 'Μέγας Ἀλέξανδρος' either, now are we?

The real problem with using William of Orange is that to British players it would most likely be assosiated with William III Of England. Perhaps William the Silent or William I would be a better name, since all names in the game have been anglicised.

So it does indeed. The author of the mod seems to have used Civ 4s portrait of William the Silent so I assumed it was him.

Interesting choice of civ leader, seeing as William the Silent would probably be the most obvious and iconic choice. Personally I wouldn't mind to see Johan de Witt as leader for the Dutch either.
