I just bought some new DVDs, and I went to play them on my computer. I have a DVD Player and everything. Except, for some strange reason, they don't work. I get some kind of weird error saying "reduce my resolution, and Colour Quality". I do and do that, to their lowest respective settings, and . . . nothing.

So then I go through Miscrosoft's Troublewshooting thing. I download the newest graphics drivers for my computer, everything that it says. I have restarted my computer about 3 times, fiddled with settings, nothing works. So, can anyone help?

And yes, I have played DVDs on this thing before. Did they change the DVD technology at all recently that would not allow them to play?

Thanks a lot.

Well, its a funny thing, I tried everything else at first, RealPlayer, Windows Media, InterPlayer, and PowerDVD. None worked, so I went to the next on my list, VLC. It worked. I really don't understand it, but meh, VLC is fine. And free!

I will assume that all but VLC are messed, and just use VLC. Thanks anyway though.

Do you have an ATI graphics card by any chance? I had alot of problems with mine, conflicts etc... but its fixable.
You could try the ATI or Nvidia players if you have either of these cards. I might try that VLC now myself. :)

No, I have an NVidia, GeForce4 64 Mb Graphics Card.

I just got the new drivers, and VLC is the answer. Although, it kinda pisses me off that I have to use it, and not something more convenient like Real Player or something.
