Dwarven Mafia III

"All you really do is train animals. How can you be overworked for teaching dogs how to tear the leg off skulking filth? It should be fun actually" Sazir said. "Are you sure you're not getting enough alcohol? I could ask the farmer to brew up some Dwarven Wine."

"Ok then... go get us another deer. I'll see if I can butcher it myself" Sazir said to Fer Osodgaso. "We might as well have some food"
He went to the previous carcass. Taking out a meat cleaver, he cut the head with it. Blood poured on the ground and Sazir was taken aback by it. "Why do corpses have so much Armok juice in them?" he groaned

*meanwhile at the mountain, where the miner has dug straight into a river. Thankfully, it was very low and didn't flood. He quickly runs out and asks*, "Hey, hope we have a carpenter here. I just ran into a river! Didn't flood but it probably will eventually. We need a wall!"

"All you really do is train animals. How can you be overworked for teaching dogs how to tear the leg off skulking filth? It should be fun actually" Sazir said. "Are you sure you're not getting enough alcohol? I could ask the farmer to brew up some Dwarven Wine."

"The rewards of wealth are what I seek. I implicitly agreed to put in a certain amount of time for the colony, and I have. Once I've learned by myself to plant seeds as well, I should have extra food I can sell later."

*the miner stares as the water starts rising.*
Oy! We're gonna need a carpenter! NOW!

"Good luck planting those seeds. But do remember to leave some of the Plump Helmets for others. We can make wine from it and then cook the wine into biscuits or a nice roast" Sazir said. He looked at the miner.
"Can't you get a stoneworker or a mason to do that? Or better yet, improve your skills in masonry and fix it yourself" he said to the dwarf.

"Fine. I'll leave them for now."

Kathir thought about the situation as he planted, and realised that he had reached a good compromise. He could persuade other ambitious to go his way if he desired, and could begin dealing with other things as he desired.

For now, he focused on planting a crop. Perhaps an inferior one to the Farmer, but a crop he could sell in times of crisis. The next thing to focus on was a labor-saving device...

"Hey Dèg Orstistag! Could you dig out a farm for us? That soil you muddied with the flooded river can be used to work on underground crops" Sazir said. "So get to work. We'll be able to grow Plump Helmets and be drinking our own beer in no time"
He tippled up a barrel of Dwarven Beer. "It's not very good quality" he commented, dropping the barrel gently as it still had beer in it

*the miner succeeds in putting a stone wall over the entrance*

All right, that was a bad idea. How about I start mining... here. *He gets to work to the west of the failed entrance, and remembers where the river was, so he doesn't run into it this time*

"Just be careful and dig above the river, but allow room for seasonal flooding. We need to be drinking Dwarven Wine soon, not this Dwarven Beer that we purchased with our supplies. I don't want to be drinking Strawberry wine either" Sazir said

During his spare time, Katthir begins assessing what dangers exist. He begins trying to plan the best route out, and training a personal Messanger Dog. If he can start making business deals with the outside world, he can begin amassing money...

OOC: Sorry about the delay.

IC: The Dwarves slept for a day in the current season. After much grumbling about having to sleep on a rock floor (or the sand itself) the dwarves got an alarming cry from Sazir Rathurol.
"MURDER!" he cried, and the dwarves gathered at the corpse.

"Non Player Character #4" Okir Emgashlerteth, was killed after strange-looking dogs and their puppies had pounded him flat before the Hunter could chase them down.

"Who could have done such a thing?" Sazir asked everyone. This was indeed disturbing news.
"I'll need the Animal Trainer for this one. Those hunting dogs can smell blood, so perhaps they can trace it back to the murderer" he commented

"Katthir! Get your lazy butt over here and away from the wine!" Sazir yelled "I need you to do a favour"

OOC: It is now DAY, Spring Month 2. Cast your votes people.

OOC- On the RP: That is unfair! Katthir is not lazy! I specifically said he spent extra hours on extra work!

IC:
After the murder, Katthir began to worry. He continued to work, but began giving his hunting dogs extra training to defend him from attack. The farm, compared to it's previous state, was neglected.

Or the animal trainer might be the murderer himself!

Dogs are nice, gentle creatures who are not usually man-killers - well, dwarf-killers. It makes sense that someone is behind the scenes training them.

OOC: Sazir believes your lazy. Don't blame my character for picking on yours for doing all the hard work. That's how capitalism works. Have you SEEN Sazir do any actual work so far?

IC: Sazir said to Katthir "Can you train those hunting dogs to examine the trail of blood? If someone got murdered, they'd probably leave a trail or something. Go check it out"
He then consulted the clerk. "These stockpile records are not recorded very well. Do we have 100 units of stone or 109? How many figures do you round these to?" he informed. Moving on before the Clerk could reply, he saw the Architect. "Do you think you can design me a house? The miner found some gold ores and I was thinking perhaps floors made of gold for it. You up to the challenge?" he asked

OOC: Makes enough sense for me.

IC: "Fine!" Katthir begins getting the dogs to follow the trail...

Mafia Game:
If, hypothetically, I were the Mafia, why would I make a clue so obvious? More likely there's something subtle most of us don't know because we don't play Dwarf Fortress.

Right, who knows about Dwarf Fortress? Rheinmetall does (that's Ineth Kokebluzat for those who are roleplaying) so I propose we... do whatever dwarves do to execute people... to him.

OOC: We execute people by hanging. Standard Mafia game. But we actually don't lynch people. We use elaborate systems and stuff or shooting in the head.

IC: Sazir tippled the wine barrel again. "Hopefully this season we get things done." he said. "Oh and Ākim Rithlutushul, have you built that Trade Depot yet, or at least got the plans down for Rithlut Vabôkbal (stoneworker)? I got a message from one of the dogs Katthir trained that Humans would be coming this summer" he explained.

OOC: Sazir knows about the messenger dogs :shifty:

IC:
Katthir, hearing about the humans, asked "Perhaps we should make ourselves some bows&arrows? It could be a tactical advantage against the humans."
