Dwarven Mafia III

What if I put blanks you can give me names for later?

Katthir Uvarrag begins putting more hours into work, doing other jobs as well as being an animal trainer. He doesn't ask anyone for help, finds his own seeds, starts planting them, and starts trying to train his animals to hunt.

For Katthir opposes the inefficency of the Communist system, believing in a natural right of property. And he hopes to spark a political crisis to break the system...

We haven't started the game yet. No RP until the game starts. That's the rule. I think I stated it somewhere.

If not, no RP until game starts.

Not another one...

I shall not be joining, as the Dwarf Fortress theme is getting old.

But the 'fluff', as opposed to the game mechanics, varies.

This is just like a Mafia game, but the Mafias are against each other as well and clues must relate to something in DF

Also Neverwonagame, all dwarves believe in a monarchy, its just that they don't have the capabilities or the right to start an economy until a proper capitalist (tax collector) gets there to start it up for them. So they have to start off with a simple system of sharing until that comes along. It's not a forced Communism and it is not called Communism, its just a general idea of the dwarves to share the stuff until the Baron (or Baroness) comes along with a tax collector and they go to a money system.

Why do they need to wait for a tax collector? Do they not even have an idea of property yet? If they do, then why not start with that? I think Katthir, at least, should advocate such.

The tax collector just makes the money system... official and tied towards the main market. Until then, the dwarves have better things to do like drink booze and/or hold parties and do a bit of work. No time for spending and capitalism! I recommend you play Dwarf Fortress for a bit, at least until the RP starts

I don't see any reason why Katthir can't be somebody who wants to get rich, and therefore an advocate of starting the capitalist system earlier.

I couldn't find the Hunter in the list, so I added one in for you Charles.
If there is a profession that you want that's in DF and none of the available suit you, just ask.
Or be the Peasant. Peasants can become anything, its just that they're not skilled in anything until they try something.

The Dwarves spent a few days travelling, but the wagon was getting unloaded.

The Architect was getting to work building a Smelter while the Animal Trainer was building a Kennel to train the dogs.
The Peasant was hauling food to a nearby food stockpile while the miner was digging out part of the mountain with just a copper pick. Hopefully the furnace operator who is waiting by the construction site of the smelter can make some ores.
The glassmaker and the metalsmith are busy fighting over who gets to use a piece of charcoal and the Jeweller realised that no gems were brought on the trip and they'd have to wait for some gems to be dug out.

The Hunter returned with the carcass of a deer, but there was no butcher shop or butcher to turn the animal into food.
The farmer was busy growing prickles berries outdoors, as underground farming would come at a later date.
The stoneworker was turning some pieces of stone into mugs, but was getting laughed at by the fish cleaner, as true dwarves tipple the barrel of alcohol, not use mugs.
The fisherman came back with a turtle from the river. The cleaner got to work, well cleaning the fish, but leaving the bones and shell.
This was going to be a calm spring.

OOC: It is now NIGHT. Mafia, PM me your kill
Also, NIGHT will be the start of a new season, DAY will consist of two months, with the lynching happening at the end of the season.
You can now RP. I'll play as the Expedition Leader, who'll not be a character in the list and thus cannot be killed, unless the Mafia kill everyone or everyone is lynched

As before. Dwarfs in practice are quite anthromorphic, and some people just want to make money.

Sazir Rathurol examined the fortress progress from the wagon. The woodworker as of yet had not decided to tear it down for logs. That was a good thing, as that might scatter the supplies everywhere, leaving it open to the weather.
The architect had designed a small building for the clerk, and the foundations were being made. The clerk in particular was sitting on a stone chair, attempting to update the stockpile records on the stone table provided.
A hunting dog ran past the wagon.
"Katthir, what are you doing over there? How many of the dogs are hunting dogs? We need some trained for combat" Sazir ordered.

"I've done as many hours as people would expect of me with that job, so I'm putting in a bit of extra investment for myself."

"Yes, that's nice to hear, but hunting dogs won't do us any good when goblins come knocking on our doors or when those skulking filth that we call kobolds decide to steal one of our stone mugs we're going to use to buy out the elven caravan" Sazir said "And even if we do find the thieves before they steal things, we need strong animals that can give chase"

"We are all obliged to put in a certain amount, and under the circumstances that's understandable. But as long as I pull my weight, why can't I use any extra work for myself? Sure, since I'll be more tired on part of the main job I'll have to spend large parts of the extra time on it, but why can't I save up a bit for myself?"
