Not being the most computer literate man on the planet i could do with some assistance.I recently had to uninstall and reinstall Civ5 after major freeze up.After reinstallation i can no longer play on DX11 as i require service pack 2 or higher. As i um running on windows 7 and there is no service pack2 i have no idea whats going on.I have been quite happily playing on DX11 for months.Any clues?I have I5 chip and a Raedon HD5450 card.Apart from that i am clueless. Thanks for listening.
I don't know Win7 well but you should be able to run DX11. Service pack is something to do with Win7 I think but no clue really. Maybe a Win7 clean up is needed.
One thing I can say though is download the driver and Catalyst Software here. This may fix things.
So I cannot get my game to start. I uninstalled and reinstalled and now in order for me to play with DX10 or 11 it says I need service pack 2 installed. What the hell? My Win 7 is current, what service pack are they talking about and how do I get it?
I just redownloaded the game and have the same problem. It will not let me play with DX11. I have always played with DX11. I hate when stuff like this happens.
Especially when I want to try out the DLC package, I just purchased. Does this happen because the game is not properly installed with steam or what? I do not remember ever changing my compatibility.
I am going to try the solution above and download an AMD driver package. I have had this problem before, and I know I fixed it, just don't remember how. I have a shortcut on my desktop that I can click on, but before I just chose one of the two options, either DX9, or DX 10 or 11, when I started the game from steam. I would like it back to the way it was to begin with.
