Early Hominids Expansion mod

hello
I decided I was going to make a mod mod for C2C
involving Early Hominids before Neanderthals, sucb as Australopithecus.

Havent seen any other mods exploring that stage of evolution
or that era.

If anyone is interested in this and wants to help out with this, let me know

I plan to add different animals too such as different megafauna and modern animals,
I think Prehistoric Africa would narrow things down In terms of location in the eras of early hominids.

So if anyone is willing to help out on this Mod Mod, I will happily accept help with this, I am looking for a team of people to make this something Civ 4 BTS and Caveman 2 Cosmos has never seen before!

Thanks, I will do my best to get some stuff done to showcase, I only have made assets, and looking for help with XML coding, but yeah, I will do my best to showcase some of the stuff being worked on for this expansion.

It wont be an entire new era because they are a pain to code, so it might just be some civilizations and techonlogies based on those stages and different maps too, and new animals for hunting, etc.
 
I'm happy to offer some advising when I can. It's possible some of the design may well be adaptable in ways that improves the core mod as well. But it is a good idea to start this as a modmod project. Bear in mind, @KaTiON_PT will be making a large set of major adjustments to the tech tree soon after the v39 release so you may want to pause on tech tree considerations until you see how his flows.

By the way, when you say you are providing assets, do you mean like unit arts and animations? This is a huge thing we need help with on the team in general for a lot of projects and planned developments.
 
That would be fantastic Thunderbird, and yes Unit Arts and Animations, the Tech Tree stuff can wait, for now I guess the Civs and Units will be the first thing for this mod mod. Is it possible we could move this thread to Mod Mods, if one of the admins can do that, anyways, I think it's great that I have some help with advising, etc. And I notice you guys use the Zoo Tycoon 2 models, I might make some Zoo Tycoon 2 edited vanilla models from the game for different species, for animals, because I am also a Zoo Tycoon 2 modder myself. I actually made an African Wild Dog, Spotted Hyena, and Black Blacked Jackal from an old mod someone gave me that doesnt exist anymore for Zoo Tycoon 2, so I have those models to work off of, but if we wanted to, we can always make custom assets. Vanilla models are the best ones to work with because most of them are Public Domain, so this might look great for this C2C mod mod.

First playable stage done, Australopithecus Afarensis, so far its only one unit and leader, the group leader of any family unit for Australopithecus, and the units have scavenging, and tool use abilities so these technologies are placeholders probably until the tech tree is adjusted, this will happen once v39 launches which according to me being told that the tech tree will be much more majorly adjusted. heres a first look at this first hominid on our list. They have the same facts except for the strategy text which lists their lifestyle, scavenging, and tool use, as well as consuming meat. Credits go to Triceraptor Rex+ DinosaurMan of the Zoo Tycoon 2 modding community for the chimpanzee mesh I modified to be rigged to the warrior skeleton to make it so these hominids can walk and move upright rather than on their knuckles. The next showcase will be some of the animals to spawn for Australopithecus to coexist with from Africa, if you guys have any suggestions of animals let me know.

Thanks! they are already rigged, and animated, so they can be ingame as a playable civ, but there are some animals coming up to hunt the Australopithecus in the next coming showcases, including large cats, hyenas, and aggressive herbviores!
 
2 brand new scavengers and one is a predator/scavenger, the Spotted Hyena and Black Backed Jackal! Credits go to the Zoo Tycoon 2 Community for making these, I got them from an old mod someone gave that doesnt exist as a download anymore, but these are the first 2 animals for ingame!

Wow! Just a simple wow! I like those scavengers/predators so much! Thanks for making them! What about other species like: chalicotheres, sivatheres, Deinotherium and the villain in thie series, the sabertooth Dinofelis?
 
yeah they are all planned.
I've been saying for a while now that we need more small game, particularly anything that is a resource that we don't have units of, like rabbits and guinea pigs and so on.
