Earth 1000 AD (Warlords)

did you screw around with any other files besides mods and maps? also are you using patch 2.08?(or whatever it is called?)

The original program is OK. I installed the mod, as usual, and I had de lastest patch (Warlord).

I was wondering if anybody has ideas for the next release? So far I'm planning to give the millions of wonders that you can build in the beginning of the game away, I played as the Aztecs and saw much need for at least one indian tribe in north america. I also noticed that theres a mountain blocking you from moving to South America and that the Incans are blocked in which needs to be fixed and again possible a indian tribe in south America. I also want to add the cambodians so that the philippines and Austrailia get settled faster. I'm not sure if anything else needs to be added, I'm open for suggestions.:goodjob:

Funny I finaly get the scenario to work, through starting it from the folder. It doesn't show up in the interface normally...

and you start out without any units? was this the intention?

Yeah I already noticed that when I installed the files...

so same problem stays...

I am running the latest patch right? 2.08

Minor update Earth 1000AD plain V 1.25

I placed the wonders that were able to be built in the beginning of the game, that in real life were alredy built, I didn't place the Great Lighthouse. In the proccess of doing this I gave the Malienese Timbuktu, because in real life it had already been built and had the University of Sankore in it. I also changed the Mountain seperating north and soth America into a hill, and also opened a passage so the Incans don't get traped. If you have any suggestions please post them!:goodjob::crazy:

Im installing it now. any chance you could do this for the other civ 4 scenarios (american revoltion, greek world and deset war)

When the 1.25 will be ready ?

Please pack mod and map in the same file

I don't know if it was just me having a bug, but I really think this scenario should start in the year 1000AD and not 100BC

I've been considering updating these scenarios for a while but I've been busy w/ Earth 1000AD. I have little Python knowledge so it would be a little hard to update some of them without having somone to help.

I'll check into it.

I checked a little into it myself, managed to edit the wbs file so that the game started in 1000AD, only problem, now every turn took 30 years on epic game speed(!). Don't know what the hell that was about

First, thank you very much for this. I liked those scenarios from CivIV so thank you for converting this to Warlords. Now, for some critisism. :)

First, the Arabs suck. In the first few turns they lose almost all of their cities to European crusaders except Mecca and Arabia. They should have had some longbowmen but they only had weak archers to defend their cities.

The Arabs should also have had Baghdad. The Abbasid Caliph ruled from Baghdad until the Mongols invaded. I don't think Mecca was ever the capital of the Islamic empire. The Ottomans didn't occupy Iraq and Baghdad until the 1500s, iirc. The Arabs could probably be a vassal of the Ottomans, though.

Historicaly, the Abbasid Caliphate had already lost North Africa by 1000. They lost it to a Shi'a dynasty called the Fatimids, so perhaps they should be added there with their capital in Cairo.

You made the Byzantines from the Romans. You should have used the Greeks. The Byzantine empire's people were Greeks and they spoke Greek.

You should have given the Turks a city in southern Iran and called it Isfahan and made it their capital since it was the Seljuq capital.

India should have had a city or two in Pakistan.

Korea is overpowered. I tried conquering them as the Mongols, and I could only take P'yongyang. I tried to attack Taejon but I was defeated. The Koreans probably should have more then the two archers they had when they were barbarians, but I don't think the Mongols had that much trouble conquering Korea.

did you ever think of adding the australian native tribe because australia is open in every scenario ever. i think they would make a good element to the game since australia is full of resorces and adds a lot to the dominent civs city count.

Does it require the 2.08 patch to work ?
