Stopped playing on the earth map because there are no natural wonders to be found and the map is very tiny. Misses the north pole as well.
I started one game on asia and a huge chunk of Russia was missing. It felt very strange. Adding this map seems like a last minute snap shot decision to me.
I'd like to point out that some of us emphatically don't want TSL. I have a lot of complaints about this very poorly designed Earth map, but TSL isn't one of them.
How it is not an option to start in TSL (or not) is still beyond belief at this point in the franchise's history. Or have multiple maps with different Civs spaced nicely with the same option. It obviously IS popular by just looking at the workshop submissions over the years. Likewise...no European map or Europe 'like' map is a big disappointment right out of the gate.

I'm not saying it shouldn't be an option, but if it were the only option I'd be pretty annoyed. If I wanted TSL, I'd play a Paradox game. For me half the fun of an Earth map is figuring out where you are and enjoying the absurdity of Aztecs in Italy and America in China.
I remember civ III earth map no TSL and featuring (among other problems) a Murray river running into Lake Eyre (That they put in the map despite the whole it usually doesn't have water in it thing).....
