I've made an earthmap with an exaggerated europe and other changes to make it a more fantasy or ancient percieved Earth and I'm sharing the dropbox link here with you.
The goal of this redesign was to give Euro civs enough room to stage huge battles or grow large populations before the colonization stage, and then still have the rest of the world to contend with. Most Earth maps I've played have left me feeling a desire for this, having something to do with Europe being too small for the amount of Civs that start there and because of city founding distance, Europe never "fills up" like it ought to. I was inspired by the classic Yet Another Giant Earth Mapmod.
You still get many of the strategic choke points of Earth: Panama, Sinai, Gibraltar, Bosphorus all there. Having a strong navy is greatly rewarded on this map, and naval invasions are a blast.
Africa has been split into two large continents and two mid-sized ones, this was to make up for how Europe was scaled. Asia and the Americas have also been sized down, but when playing it still has the feel of an earthmap.
Playable civs-
France, Germany, England, Rome, Vikings, Russia, Celts, Spain, Portugal, Egypt, China, India, Mongolia, Persia, Korea, Japan, Ethiopia, Ottomans
True start locations. Egypt and Ethiopia are placed on each of the larger African continents and they have it to themselves.
Resource distribution is realistic and meant to inspire colonization.
