Easter Eggs

Oh man I hope they didn't bungle the translation like that - talk about unprofessional.

The only easter egg found was in a screenshot before game was released.
On top bar it said on a blackboard Civ 4=$
The hidden messages as I have learned are not easter eggs.

I believe that one is the Education tech icon.

A couple I have found:

-The music when in diplomacy with Washington comes from Colonization.
-When you enter the Modern Era, you'll see a drawing of a watch called "Soren".

I don't get the Soren and Al Gore thingies.
Plz explain!
Soren Johnson helped make Civ IV

It was claimed that Al Gore (Democratic Nominee in the US Elections in 2000) invented the Internet. This is actually false.

False that Gore invented the internet, and false that he claimed to have invented it.

Actually, the funny part is most intelligent people realized exactly what he said and why, which is exactly why the joke is humorous (to anyone not too far left or right of the isle). Politics aside, he bungled, and has bungled before (anyone remember a certain mispelled vegetable). We all do it, he was as human as we all are, which I find to be a positive and not a negative. If we all took ourselves seriouslly all the time, life wouldnt be worth living. But back to the topic....sillyness in life, and especially games, shouldnt be taken lightly....to turn the phrase :D Which is why I love easter eggs (or fun inserts into the game that give you a smile now and then).

And to the fellow who corrected me on the music...your spot on. I have an old comp that runs on Win 3.0 set up specifically for those days when I want to play old games like Colonization. I installed Civ I (ahh those floppy drive days...brings back memories) and your correct...its Civ and not Colonization. As someone else mentioned, when dealing with Washington the Colonization music plays...hehehe. Nostalgia stuff like that is priceless.

I wonder if Sid will ever try his hand at Colonization again...always liked that game.

Well its back to beating up on the Aztec and Malinese....cheers!

It seems Catherine has more of these quotes. She said once to me during a negotiation:
"You are so pathetic, no even I would sleep with you".

Catherine rules. She has all the good one liners. I remember her saying: "I want closer relations with you, if you know what I mean." I am curious if she uses her flirting with only male leaders or not. Much better than the crappy Caesar joke anyway.

Roosevelt says:

The only thing you have to fear is the terrible consequence of not giving me what I want.

It's kind of funny.

MadMaligor-

The "misspelled vegetable" incident was NOT Al Gore, but Dan Quayle, a far more moronic VP.

:crazyeye:

or he could be comming onto you :p

anyway I found something, if you click the "what do you think of..." then choose someone and keep clicking it, eventually the guy will say "reply hazy, ask agian"

HA! It's definitely "made," though, not "tossed."

oh wow! i live in the US and in SWG i once thanked a combat medic for his 'great tosses' when healing me by throwing stims. he sent me a tell saying 'i know you did not mean anything by that, but...' and explained what tossing can mean in his country. i blushed so bad!!

so i sure hope it's 'made', but haven't played lately.

Poor Dan Quayle...

Future Tech: "The future will be better tomorrow" lol

Leader Rank: at end of game the worst leader rank is "Dan Quayle" :)
