I just found a REALLY easy way to change the association of a file.

For example: Your using WinAmp to play MP3's but you want to use Windows Media Player instead. Instead of manually hacking the registry, or trying to edit that HORRIBLE list of File Types, or God forbid trying to do it with in the program.........you can just follow these easy steps.

To change the default App. to open a file in Win98
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1) Find and highlight the file you want to change.
2) Hold the "Shift" key down and Right Click on the file.
3) Left Click on "Open With.."
4) Then select the program you want to use and check "Always use this program to open this type of file"
Windows 2000 users use this method: You just have to right click the file you want to change, then choose Open With then Choose Program..., then after you select the program you want to open the file with be sure to check the box Always use this program to open these files.
CornMaster does that work for all Win9x/ME OSs or just 98 Standard or Second Edition?
It works with Win 95, Win 95OSR2, Win 98, Win 98 SE, Win ME. In short, Win 9x and derivatives.
