My first contribution here.

I would like the time change when I go to war because it feels little strange to be in war for maybe 50 years or longer. :)

My proposal is that when going to war the time change from 1 year per turn (in modern age for example) to 1 day (or a little longer) per turn to get more real wars.

Ofcourse the research of science would not be effected to prevent anybody research all science 3000 BC and if only AI fight eachother it would not effect the time also. Everything else would be the same regarding production etc.

What do you think? Cool or stupid idea?

Interesting, but it neads work cause if you are in war your units would magically move 25 times fatser over the same distance as before

I personally think the solution is to break up the firt age into 3 or 4 new ages

Ur idea's good, but in needs a bit of work

It's a good idea but i don't think it will work

War should take the same amount of time as everything else, but the
player should be punished in terms of demographics for very long wars...

.

We can make it absolute time, with each turn is 1 year, and the beginning stuff takes forever to do, except for building stuff, such as units and city improvements. Then as time goes on, it takes less and less time to do stuff.

Bad idea. Civ is not reality: some players just never stop to be at war in their games, so it would do a war of 6000 year if their reach the 2000 AD... Civ is turned this way that war lenght can't be realistic because of the gameplay and victory conditions types, like domination or conquest. Plus, war and conquests have many advantages in the game, like more ressources and luxury, army support, ONU elections... so what do you want? 2.193.000 turns for every day of the game?

And what the heck is the difference if the other units do the same?

Maybe it should be an option to turn off this feature for people who fight wars in
6000 years. :)

For my self it would work fine because I dont fight wars really long.

There is no difference- kind of, why in the world would your units move 25 times faster cause 2 countries you've nevr heard of are duking it out on a continet uv never deiscovered? That's the difference
