Is it possible to edit the map in the game I'm playing? I'd like to put all the strategic resources available to every civilization, but I'm pretty late in the game. Don't want to start all over :)

The latest version of Civ3CopyTool has an export to bic function. That can then be loaded into the Civ Editor and you can add your resources. Then start the game as a scenario.

I've done this, but it wasn't entirely satisfactory. I used a large map and after editing it and restarting I had rampaging barbarians instead of the sedentary I started with. Also the corruption was much increased as if the edited large map had the corruption settings of a standard map. I played it out and won big time. But, I haven't tried it since.

The latest (untested) versions of C3CT can import edited maps as well (not changing the corruption and barbarians for that game).

Your post confirms my theory that the maps holds all the rules from the worldsizes somewhere, I just need to locate tem. there are still some unknown fileds to be worked out. The export map was mainly in to be able to see where to move units, and not to play on.
