Is there any releif to the "Blank slot" bug in the editor?

Also, when I try to do anything, like look up the Worker jobs, or generate a Small, 60% Water, Continental, Wet, Cool, 4 billion year old world with Random Barbarian levels (Hint Hint...)

Anyway, as I was saying, the Editor goes through a series of "Script Errors" or something, and crashes.

Please Help. I don't want my Minutemen to go to waste.

I understan you're frustration, but my advice is to hold off on any further editor ventures. Why? Because it appears Brad Oliver is chipping away on the 1.29f patch and equivalent 1.29f editor. It could very well be months away; however, you'll just have to redo everything you've done w/ the 1.21g editor.

That's just the thing. I havent done anything.

Anyway, I only need these for an Offline Version of Civ III I'm playing with a few of my friends. (So far we got the British/Pythonians, Egyptians, Japanese, and French, and one more questionable.

In brads "beta 4 of Civ3edit patch" thread, page 2 (i think) DiamondzAndGunz has posted some new nib files that you can drop in to the following directory.
/Applications/Civilization\ III/Civ3Edit.app/Contents/Resources/
This fixed most of these problems.

Make sure the Civ3 Editor app is in the exact same folder as the game, and that you've done a full install of the game. If you're getting a series of errors in the editor and can't do much, that's the likely cause.

One work around thats work is this one:

Open Rules editor, change something, change tab, close rules editor and then save.
Open rules editor (now there, may be blanks or not), close it and reload the saved modfile.

Now you can mod at your hearts desire and the blankings doesn't occurs (at least not for me).

But you have to repeat these steps each time you opens the file/editor.

The blanking seems to be fixed to the action you do when you return to the rules editor the first time. The reload works fine for me, just a little paranoid saving...

Dojoboy, I thank you for the great news. Brad, you are the man! After a long 40 days without checking up on my American empire, I will finally have a chance to play all day long on sunday, since I was caught up playing the first Command & Conquer, the only one out for Mac (sigh). Its kinda similar to starcraft, not only because its RTS, but the graphics are somewhat old (it is still quite enjoyable to see regular grunts flying into the air and then sinking into the ground in a cute little pool of their own blood every now and then) yet that does not take away from the gaming experience. Too bad I'm never going to find anyone to play with me online now since the game came out in '96 , '95 for PC as usual.
Back onto the topic of the editor, I can't and I can wait at the same time for the new patch w/ editor(not to put any pressure on you Brad). Its just that the thought of finally being able to really get all of the ideas for Civ III scenarios out of my head and on here at CivFanatics for everyone to enjoy makes me really, really really ridiculously good-look—I mean happy.
