Egyptian unit start

The only 2 that really count for me are the the default and death animations.
As long as it looks good standing there and dies gloriously, the attack animation can be whatever u are able to come up with.
I have no artistic ability. But as a chef of scenario making, an ingredient like this makes my soup have more flavor.
Keep up the good work.

Looks good, though the attack looks like he's almost sitting down. Maybe if you "pulled" the legs downwards, backwards?

Well, two reasons.

1/ I used Kinboat's human body model so basically I stick to that.

2/ in most fighting, you try to lower yourself because it lowers you center of gravity and it makes you a smaller target covered more efficiently by the shield.

2 more things :

the spear does not look so straight but this is inferior weaponry so in fighting it should (I hope) pass OK.

A preview of Death anim

Looks good to me.

The spear moves a little too much as he's falling, but you hardly notice it.

Sorry if I failed. It was supposed to be the rebound of the spear on the ground.

I also think that it looks excellent Loulong. :goodjob:

We do need more unique units for the pre-history part of the game (i.e. the 4,000 to 1,750 BC period, pre chariots).

I do have one, tiny, inconsequential, unimportant, minor, observation.....

.....almost all fighting men in history have been right handed, and carry their shield in their left hand.
Your figure could easily be 'mirrored' to correct this, should you think that it is worth it.

Either way, I think it's a great new unit, and I am looking forward to it. :D

So tactful Kryten...
Now I depended on Kinboat's human model, a left-handed one.
I don't know how to mirror but if you can explain it simply I will do it.

Thanx anyway. I needed some :goodjob:

But I don't think I'll do the run.

BTW, I guess it could be an advanced warrior (+ 1 HP) or lesser spearman (-1 HP).
This is a very early/primitive infantry with little protection and mostly wood weapons (spear with burned tip) rather than bronze tops

It is really very easy.
See the screenshot below.
Just select all of one direction, mirror it, then paste it into the correct place on the FLICster created storyboard (because what was facing east becomes facing west, and so on).

:)

Oh and it might be inferior weaponary but those trained to use it were top notch:egypt:

Since it is Egyptian infantry it does not need to wear civ-specific colors. And he does not wear too much !

Of course if you want to make an Egyptian civil war...

Maybe the piece of cloth hanging in the middle ?

But actually the colors are sort of accurate for that time.

I won't argue with you about their quality since you seem so keen on Egypt. But then you should know that the elite was made of chariots and bowmen (when available of course) and that the Egyptians were not so keen on fighting so this "levy" should not be too strong IMHO.

OK, thanx Kryten-teacher, thou master of the arts. I will do it ASAP.

BTW I love the texture of the shield on the DBAOL picture but 1) I could not make something like that myself and 2)I found a shield carrying the colors that I used (less flashy I guess though ;) )

About civ-colors: maybe have the red frame in the shield civspecific?

First question : partly yes (two frames out of 6) Lazy :scan:
Second question : could be the option. Will see when I am finished with the Death anim.
