Well if you want to change country, I might join. I already have an Egypt game going.

In 4000 B.C. Josiah the Elder convinced his tribal group to stop there endless roaming and settle in fertile valley known forever after as London. Josiah decided that a means of storing grain would be benificial for future generations. Josiah took the strongest men in the tribe and dispatched them to a far mountain and beyond to explore for the expansion of the people.

3950 B.C. Josiah meet with the wise men of the city and they agreed that a means to worship the gods would be neccessary. (Ceremonial Burial) Josiah instructed the city's workers to build a mine out side the city.

3600 B.C. Josiah's mines extend westwerd

3550 B.C. Our scout notices smoke on the horizen. While investigating he wanders into a Magyar village and they instructed him on the ways of the warrior. (Warrior Code)
Also in this time London's contol over the wilderness expands.

3100 B.C. The Angle tribe taught the Brave scout how do work Bronze. Josiah the Elder passes away at the extream age of 67. The wise men begin there surch for another leader.

Atros or lkendter if you can play post

I can't find this Browse button that you speak of? How do I attach the save game?

here you go Donsig...... I am wondering about Atros or lkendter....If i haven't heard from either of them tommorow than we should get some new players

***If anyone wants to sit on the bench than just let me know***

Josiah - I am in with English.

1) I haven't figured out how to do that.

2) Edit the post you want to delete. Near the top of the edit screen is a line about deleting the post. On the left there's a box you must click on and on the right a button saying 'delete' now' that you must click on. Be careful: If you delete the first post in the thread you delete the whole thread!

3) You can post an image by attaching it - just like the saved game zip file. Valid file extensions are listed under the browse button and there is a maximum file size. When you attach an image it won't have to be downloaded - it will automatically show up in your post. I haven't done it myself but you can take screen shots from a game by using the 'print screen' button on the keyboard. This will give a large bmp file that must be converted to something like jpeg using something like Photoshop.

edit: All right, I'm home now and ready to play! lkentdar didn't play yet - no one has downloaded the save posted by josiah - so I will play now!:)

For five hundred years the settlement in London is serene. Mines and roads are built around the settlement. The settlement grows and some of the new English people, thinking the grass may be greener elsewhere, set off to the south to make a new settlement. The intrepid English scouts seach the jungle to the northwest. They find an insignificant little group of huts whose inhabitants fill the English treasury with gold. Soon after this the English begin to bury their dead with great pomp and ceremony. This leads directly to attempts to preserve the memory of the departed in more permanent ways.

Those who left London found their greener pastures and established Sussex in 2550 BC even as more Londoners set of on their own journey to a better place. Two hundred years later, as English scouts push ever deeper into the dense northern jungle, signs of another civilized people begin to appear. In 2230 BC these people are found and they call themselves Chinese. Some English learn the Chinese art of masonry while the English alphabet catches on in China. The English treasury realizes a gold profit from this exchange of knowledge. During this time a new English city is founded on the coast west of London and is called Bristol.

****** Suggestion: There is a patch of grassland just west of China. It has some mountains around it. I think we should try to get a city up there before the Chinese settle the area!

EDIT: Saved game deleted to conserve server space!

I might join in if there's still a place for me. If so, i'm new to succession games, and I'm wondering if there's any different rules I should follow.

Based on the order up top. I think next up is - Atros

You probably want more then five. I have had drop out problems in my games, sometimes leaving to few players. I know play to go with 6 or 7.

lkendter, from a lack of posting by atros I have moved him on the bench, so you are up next. Pggar you are player #4 and Jaffa you are player #5.....I am going to be off for the next 5 hours (Damn college) all be back around....well we all live in different time zones so never mind.

2230 BC - I reviewed the End-of-turn situation. I got a chinese worker for $25! I dropped the science rate to 10%, as 50% gained us NO turns.

2110 BC - $25 from a tribe. Zzzzzzz

1990 BC - The Seljuk tribe has taught us the wheel.:) No sign of horses yet.

1950 BC - Crappy spot for a town, but incense spotted south of Bristol.

1870 BC - York formed by Wheat flood plains / Cattle. Tribe gives up a map.

1790 BC - Again, a tribe gives up a map. Boring. Good news. 3 cattle and 4 grapes spotted from the map. We have a goal to head towards.

1750 BC - Barbarian camp sited. Free warrior from a village. This is up by China, so I appreciate the extra exploring unit.

1700 BC - $50 from a tribe.

1575 BC - The Angle tribe has taught us Mysticism. :)

Goals -
1 - With next tech, check science rate again.

2 - Are we playing with 7 or 8 civs? One of the circles is missing!

3 - London is a great production center. Finish the Pyramids.

4 - We need to get a luxury connected. I can't risk much whipping of people without 1 luxury in our network.

5 - Bristol and Sussex should produce more spearman. Our military is weak.

6 - York is a settler / worker factory. Manage it well. 1st settler in 5 turns. Manage York production carefully, and I think it can stay in worker / settler mode.

edit - Deleted old game save.

I am downloading the patch as we speak. I suggest all succesion game players get the patch BEFORE moving, so that we are all on the same version.

Yes every one download the patch before playing.
Pggar you are up next.

I am going to be gone for 48 hours....if my turn comes before I am back just skip me and I will work myself back into the cycle.

Donsig and lkendter you both are running very good threads else where on this Forum so if you can watch this one for me over the weekend I would appreciate it. :king:

I have to see what's up with the GOTM & the patch before I install it...

I don't work until Sunday afternoon so I can help keep track of whose turn it is!

Good work lkendter. Sounds like we have a good start!:)

It is Pggar's turn now...

Up next - Pggar
1 - Get the patch.

donsig - It will take time, but out position looks VERY strong. The only competion nearby is China with just 2 cities and no worker ;)

The key is to keep the settler factory at full output.

The potential dye city will be junk for a while, but over time it can be improved. I wouldn't do much jungle work until later.

If we do it right - Dye, Incense, and Wine in our reach.

I'm just finishing downloading the patch. I'll start to play after i install it, and later today I will post the save game.

All right - we seem to be moving along with this game!:goodjob: It would be great if Pggar and Jaffa both get a round in tonight. Since Josiah said to skip him that's means I could play too! (I've only been up for 4 hours so I've got plenty of time tonight!)

I agree that we shouldn't do much jungle work at first. I also think a city that gives us dye is a good city even if it does nothing else for awhile.
