Emergency announced in Suez Canal as 'Ever Given' container ship returns

If the Dutch lived there the place would be green grassland no doubt

yeah :)

And well... Dutch companies did the chief project management of both freeing the Ever Given as the Canal work.

When I was as kid-teenager on biking holidays (the whole family) in the Ardennes or Germany, and we had lunch near a little stream, I gobbled up my lunch with considerable speed and started building dams in those streams with the biggest stones I could handle.

Just widen the part of the canal where fatboy gets stuck. :crazyeye:

There is always one spot on the road where everyone has accidents.
We all know where it is.
We even put up lots of crosses with names on them!

And for the mischievous, where is the one point where the canal could be shut down for a very long time if attacked?

if the Dutch had the canal and the relevant territory , they would not be allowed to be the Dutch .

You mean the 1956 French-British action when Egypt took the Canal ?

Just go back a bit in time to 1672 and we were at war at the same time not only with France and Britain, but also with Germany. And they did not win. Whereby as trivium the historical d'Artagnan (immortalised in the Three Musketeers) lost his life in the battle of Maastricht.

at 1672 , we were still 11 years before laying siege to Vienna for the second time . People and states can get old , sometimes horribly fast .
