@Zarn: Did you ever play a multiplayer or PBEM game with C3C against formidable opponents? 
It is quite difficult to win against a human player even if this player is rather weak. Here we have a company of Bremp and CDZ which makes military victory impossible considering the circumstances. But military defeat is quite possible. You have to have an overwhelming advantage against a human opponent. At present, I do not see that we have that advantage. If I may ask, what is your vision of how we proceed to war? Let's put it this way. How do you think we can defeat an army of about 50 Immortals in the next 25 turns? Any ideas?
BTW, I checked at C3B site and Joker seems to be a very decent player, at least a solid Emperor level or very strong Monarch level player based on their GOTM results.

They will have built 50 immortals in the next 25 turns if we attack them. That's what akots means, I believe. 
Though I think 50 is a bit too high, but it's the thought that counts.

And don't forget about warrior upgrades as well. It is not that expensive, you just have to stop researching for some time.

On defense, an immortal's nothing but a swordsman, but hey you guys can take this thing way too seriously. That's the way you want it, so be it, but it is boring. I know other players aren't the AI, and I know they fight considerably better as I have been play civ a while now (don't know how many years).
Civ is no fun, if you aren't willing to take risks even if you do win.
