UPDATE 06/03/2007
(ONLY TEXT FILE NEEDS TO BE RE-DOWNLOADED FOR THIS UPDATE, NO OTHER FILES)

Changed the picture for Minor Nations on the Foreign Advisor's screen.

After getting annihilated on my first try as the Romans, I tried again. This time forging alliances and creating a larger army than the first time. I'm off to a good start. I finally took all of the Italian peninsula after about 2 to 3 hours of game play. Now, I'm ready to expand outward.....Muhahahaha....

UPDATE 06/05/2007
(ONLY THE SCENARIO AND THE TEXT FILE NEEDS TO BE RE-DOWNLOADED FOR THIS UPDATE, NO OTHER FILES)

Added a new city improvement called Public Baths. This will add 1 happy face and remove all population pollution for the city. Requires aqueduct.

Added a new city improvement called Slave Camp. This will increase city production by 10 shields, increase city luxury and tax output by 50%. However, each camp adds 1 unhappy face in every city throughout your empire. Requires slavery.

Colosseum now produces 3 happy faces instead of 2. Requires construction and a slave camp.

Each city population now only requires 1 food instead of 2. This will create larger cities.

Increased the population for most cities, but not to the Huns or to Brittania Minor Nations.

UPDATE 06/06/2007
(ONLY THE SCENARIO FILE NEEDS TO BE RE-DOWNLOADED FOR THIS UPDATE, NO OTHER FILES)

Slave Camp doubles city shield production and increases city luxury and tax output by 50%. However, each camp adds 1 unhappy face in every city throughout your empire. Requires slavery.

Increased cost for buildings and units.

Heh... I made a small wonder for my private mod with increased luxury output and high culture, but also high upkeep and made two city inhabitants unhappy. That wonder was the "Royal Operahouse"...

I like the fact that it both increases the Luxury output and decreases happiness. :)

It will increase the luxury output for the City, but will decrease happiness throughout the empire. That's the era of City States. The whole idea is to create a super city at the expense of the rest of your empire. You're not going to be able to create too many of these Slave Camps without having a real serious problem with unhappy citizens. Most likely, you will only be able to get away with 2 maybe 3 cities which have slave camps. I'm just hoping the AI will realize it can't build too many of these Slave Camps. I was also kind of thinking of the Spartacus uprising when I created the Slave Camp. You could have massive uprisings if you have too many slave camps. The Colloseum requires a slave camp since gladiators were mostly slaves.

It actually applies to more eras other than city states. For example, the Northern American States were getting increasingly unhappy with slavery, while the Southern states were enjoying the INCREASE in luxury and profit.

I genuinely liked the idea. >.>
That's how I understood it too, and I agree. Like Virote I fancy the idea of a trade-off, in this case a building useful only when the luxury setting is high enough to counterbalance the citizens made unhappy by it. That makes for interesting gameplay, where you don't just build it willy-nilly.

That wasn't a negative comment. I genuinely liked the idea. >.>

Sorry Bro, I took it the wrong way. I'm going to edit my posting so I don't look like a complete jerk.

I'm kind of running into a problem of such drastic population growth with the 1-food/growth rule that I'm not sure if that was a good idea or not. What do you think? There's like 2 or 3 riots every other turn due to unhappy citizens. It will take several turns to calm things down and to reach an equilibrium. I guess that adds some fun to it, forcing you to micromanage cities to maintain harmony.

Hey Dean have you consiedered getting conquests.

UPDATE 06/07/2007
(ONLY THE SCENARIO AND THE TEXT FILE NEEDS TO BE RE-DOWNLOADED FOR THIS UPDATE, NO OTHER FILES)

These updates were put in place to counter the unhappiness level due to the rapid population growth, and the unhappiness created by slavery.

Polytheism now allows 4 new city improvements (not wonders). I would have created even more Gods and Goddesses, but the tech tree image for Polytheism can only hold up to 4 sub-images.

A statue of the God of War.
Adds 1 happy face. Inceases city defense. Decreases city's war weariness.

A statue of the God of the Sea.
Adds 1 happy face. Increases coastal defense.

A statue of the Goddess of Commerce.
Adds 1 happy face. Increases city tax output by 50%. Reduces corruption.

A statue of the Goddess of Wisdom.
Adds 1 happy face. Increases city research by 50%.

Colosseum greatly increased in cost, but now produces 5 happy citizens.

Temple now creates 2 happy citizens.

Yep, I'm going to get Conquest after I have some more fun with this Vanilla version. Probably in a couple of months.

Thats cool. You are also the most persitant modder Ive ever seen you update this nearly every day.

Ha! Well, to be honest with you it's because it's still in its testing phase. I keep playing as different civs and trying it out. I always seem to encounter some problem.

Like right now, there's some kind of glitch where the God of War Statue cannot be built in a Level 2 city which is a city over population 10. I am completely baffled because there is absolutely no setting in which I can find which would cause this. The other three statues can be built no problem, but it's just for this particular one.

Here's my latest glitch to solve.

Many of the AI cities are mysteriously diminishing to population 1.

One moment their city will be population 18, and later in the game I notice their population is at 1. I noticed this happened to several civilizations in the game.

It's not the production of settlers because I have their production turned off. It's not the production of workers because they are extremely expensive and take a long time to create.

Here's the other part of the glitch. Once their city is at population 1, it then is only creating 1 food when it should be at least 2. I checked and verified the terrain it was on it should have been 2. This is a MAJOR glitch.

Hmmmm.........I guess I will just have to save my pennies and get the Conquest.

Yeah thats what I hated baout vanilla. it was screwed up.

Does the statue give bombard defense?
