This game started out with 6 players: Dave, me, FortyJ, CivGeneral, WildFire, and wtiberon. WF and wtiberon left the game since they had to go. We were all getting fed up at Dave constantly beating us, so we changed the names of our cities. Thus this screenshot:

Then, later on, there was an epic battle. South of my city was a mountain, where Dave's Jag sat for ages. I had just founded a city to the SE on the furs, which Dave razed. Then the battle started. I saw hordes of swords headed towards my mountain city. The trade route luckily opened with FortyJ JUST in time (2-3 turns prior to the attack). I had no iron and horses! Iron came first, then horses the next turn. I upgraded to swords, and switched everything to swords (luckily, I was in a GA). I had about 3-5 spears and 5 swords in the city. The battle took 2 rounds, netting me a half dozen elites and a GL. Dave's 14 swords were decimated. I took out some more troops on the retreat.

On my side of the Story, I was just starting to expand when the Great Epic started. I expanded from a little 2 city civ to a 7 Civ in the process. Currently I am sending Immortals to help aid in the fight. Earlyer I lost in the Great Epic war when Dave attacked my Iron Pillage Team. BUt Soon Ill have my own Great Epic to tell :D.

Yeah, that was an exciting battle! I hope you can dig up a screenshot of our stacks. :)

Some background first:

The evil Aztecs built 10 Jaguar Warriors before their first settler. The Green Machine marched to the gates of Carthage (WildFire444) but arrived a couple turns too late. Carthage already had Numidian Mercenaries. So after killing some Carthaginian warriors and forcing them into turtle mode, the jaguar stack of doom marched on to Egypt (wtiberon).

6 Jaguar Warriors arrived at Memphis, a size 2 city defended only by a spearman. They overwhelmed the defense and captured the city. With a bit of time and a lot of whipping, Memphis became an impenetrable fortress, separating the western continent from the east.

Exploring JWs found some Iroquois (Chieftess) scouts, which they promptly slaughtered. The Iroquois were isolated for a long time as a result. Another JW found an undefended Roman (FortyJ) town, which was also razed. By the end of the Aztec golden age they had twice as many cities as any other civ, with the annoying side effect of being universally loathed.

Now the plan for world domination swung into action. Carthage and Egypt retired, leaving only 4 civs on the map. The Aztecs connected their iron and upgraded 15 JWs to swordmen, preparing for an invasion of the Iroquois. Hopefully they could build the Forbidden Palace in the land of the purple people, and use the production advantage to match their remaining two opponents. Unfortunately, Rome was upgrading legions at the same time. The 15 swordmen easily crushed the Roman invasion, but the result was misplaced troops on the western side of the empire.

Racing against time, the swordmen moved into position on the Iroquois border. A Persian (CivGeneral) raiding party was spotted near the iron on the Iroquois border, and was eliminated. The first swordmen to arrive razed a new Iroquois town by the furs. This was probably a mistake, as it alerted the Iroquois to their danger. A cultural expansion caught the road-building crew, giving the Iroquois an extra turn of preparation as the main stack of swordmen approached.

The Aztec commander ordered a do-or-die stack attack on the city. For three minutes the battle raged, and both sides lost half their number with the rest wounded. But when the dust settled, the city defense held. In desperation the survivors attacked again the second turn, but with fresh reinforcements and time to heal, the Iroquois defenders easily repelled them, creating a Great Leader in the process. The remaining force retreated the next turn, forced to fight a defensive war as the Iroquois counterattacked.

What was it? I got jag rushed maybe 15 turns into the game :crazyeye:

Good thing I did get those numidians or that would of been my quickest game ever! Also, I was quite mean right before I retired. I gave one of my cities to Chieftess, but still had my numidian right outside her territory, so I reclaimed the city and than sold both to wtiberon who did ask for them first :p

So who won?

Btw, does anyone know if Dave has any friends? Cause he makes enemies really freakin quick ;)

I was amazed at how those jags kept beating up on my Spearman then I would attack with archers and get beat...me thinks those were no ordinary jags :)

My jags didn't even defeat one of dave's spears during that other game. And I had 20 of them.

Brief? History of The Corporation

The benelovent Employees of The Corporation settled down on the banks of the River Water Cooler in 4000BC. Don't ask me how we knew it was precisely 4000 years BC, we just knew.

We immediately recruited a couple of warriors to explore the surrounding region and then set to work building a barracks so that we might one day train these warriors to fight with better weaponry.

Soon, Headquarters grew large enough that some of our Employees felt the need to expand (or franchise) our way of life. A group of brave souls set out to settle the jungles SW of Headquarters and established our first new edifice, Tiffany's, which quickly became famous for the lustrous gemstones found in the nearby jungles.

Then, tragically, before we could garrison this new settlement, a band of strangely dressed warriors appeared on the outskirts of Tiffany's. With nary a word of warning, these warriors butchered the helpless women and children of that town and razed the settlement to the ground. Warriors were dispatched immediately, but the quick-moving Jaguar Warriors (as we came to name them) fled from our advances into the safety of the jungle.

This setback was indeed painful, but served as a rallying cry for all Employees. Never again, would this happen to a Corporate town. Shortly thereafter, we discovered the secrets of steel and began to train our multitude of warriors to fight with these swords. Those warriors who mastered the sword with exceptional proficiency earned the right to be called Legionary.

Our Legionaries soon began scouring the land searching for the Aztec homeland. Finding one roaming in the north, our Legionaries trapped and killed an elite Jaguar Warrior troop. This victory sent waves of excitement throughout the land and ushered in a Golden Age for all Employees.

Once it became clear where the Aztec homeland was, our Legionaries began marching in that direction. Approximately, 10 Legionaries reached the Aztec border while another half-dozen or so remained behind, parked near the Egyptian border in anticipation of a hostile take-over of the prized Egyptian holdings to our south.

Attacking the Aztecs served its purpose, convincing the Egyptians to bring forward their forces, exposing their flank to our secondary force of Legionaries. Meanwhile, far to the north, in the Corporate retreat known as Hunting Lodge, we successfully completed construction of the Great Library!

As our forward force of Legionaries met up with large numbers of Aztec Swordsmen, our advance stalled, but our secondary force advanced on Thebes and met little resistance on the way. When the Egyptian envoy was turned away at the border and all requests for dialog were ignored, the Egyptians wisely surrendered, sparing the lives of countless Egyptian soldiers that would surely have fallen under the might of our steel.

It seemed that the Aztecs were content not to advance past Memphis. So, with the advent of Monarchy and no major projects under construction, we struck a peace deal with the Aztecs and held an emergency meeting of the Board of Governors in which we voted out the Despot in favor of a new King.

We emerged from our period of Anarchy to find ourselved once again outnumbered by the Aztecs. Our military was inferior to theirs, but our production was beginning to take hold. Soon our nation would be strong again and able to deal with the Aztec menace.

It was then that word reached us that the Iroquois, governed by the wise and peaceful Chieftess, had been attacked by the Aztecs. Fearing the consequences of losing the only allied nation on the other side of Azteca, the Employees of the Corporation agreed unanimously to trade Iron and Horses to the Iroquois to aid in their defense.

Now, the Aztec cities are plentiful, but their military has been dealt a severe blow at the hands of the Iroquois. Corporate soldiers are gearing up in the west, and the Aztecs are falling dangerously behind in the tech race. The world waits to see what will happen next...

Huh, so thats where Chieftess and CivGeneral were.

My starting position was near the tundra to the south of Dave's empire, where his three cities are kind of forming a triangle. My capital probably would of been the top one.

Played against Dave again last night in a elimination game. Except I forgot it was elimination even though I destroyed the Romans that way. Than, all of a sudden, about 15 Mounted Warriors appeared and destroyed one of my cities. I was thinking, no problem, I have plenty on numidians and swordsmen. Plus, I was in a golden age. Than it said I had lost. Than, I cursed ;)

Of course, Dave was playing a ICS game because (I guess) its easier to move units to cities that are closer to eachother in case someone declared war on him, since it was elimination. Maybe, we can play again. But of course, every game we have played so far, we've been neighbors.

Its just that he was doing something he shouldn't have been doing like every minute. For instance, attacking someone, going through land. All unprovoked.

Did you all ever finish that game?
