Eragon mod

there prob is, but i cant find it????

Srry about the map, but I have no time tonight. Last night, I was working on a standered map and never saved it. I was just about done, and guess what happens. Yeah, the PC shut down on me for some weird reason. :(

oh. unlucky. thats happend to me a few times

dalek master how are the civics coming???

Im still uming and ering them. You can't have stuff that woudl turn the varden into the empire, but neither can you have nothing. Im thinking:

Ethical
Agriculture
Economy
Slavery
Magic
Demostic
Clans (only the dwarves can improve on "no clan")

I think it sounds right now its written out in pixels...

sounds good

Ice have you figured out the prob yet???
Also there are some more units out so ill create some more units/heros.
I was thinking so there arnt to many heros you could have the lesser heros as just unique units in wich they arnt super powerfull but like a strong unit. otherwise we'll have to many heros.

Actually, I began to work on it again today. I've been so busy the last few weeks it's ridiculous.

Today I found a useful little program called MapViewer (now it works as an editor to)

I loaded up the map I made in it to see how it came out (since I wasn't able to view it in CivIV because of the problems) and I am truely amazed how accurate python used it's algorithims to make that.

The map, I kid you not, looks exactly like Algaesia. I'm working right now to find all problems and fix them. SOrry it took me so long.

sounds good:goodjob:

Ok, finally, I got the map working.

It's pretty good, although I had to do the foresting in worldbuilder, because python for some reason wouldn't pick it up.

Anyway here's the file: Ice's Algaesia Map Version 0.2

Here's a screenshot:
algaesia05wt.jpg

Bottom right hand corner got messed up when I took the screenshot. Just my pc being annoying again.

Notes:
The foresting is not perfect and may be modified soon
Notice that all plots other than deserts and mountains are grassland. Plains will be mixed in soon.
I have not placed rivers yet. Although I plan on placing them sometime today.
Everything is pretty accurate.
This map is 217x119
There may be units, citites and other stupid things CivIV might place when you load up the map. This is only temporary until I have the mod folder to associate the map with.
Enjoy!

Good job! :goodjob: It looks a lot better than I would have done.
*gives ice2k4 a pat on the back*

It is awesome, but maybe the desert should be a bigger percantage of the map?
Make sure its not too big, I think there should be pretty much borders everywhere for the scenario... ;)

Well, the map is so much bigger than I thought it would be. The desert (in my view) is pretty porportional, considering python makes you color over images certain colors for it to make you a map. The map I used to color over was

Im really annoyed over the forest, so I might redo the map with the same images, and get the python to do my foresting.

If I did the above, nothing would change (except the forest) so don't worry.

Another note about the map: If you look closely you can see the mountain ranges are broken in some places by what looks like grassland. However, if you look even closer you will see they are broken by hills. I did this to allow settlement in the beor, and allow Rohan to cross the Spine (read the Eldest for more information.)

great idea about the spine. when you tweak the map do you could split the boaers into two by a line of mountins with no gaps???? it would only be a single line so there for still room for settlement and could you make the rivien on the right one gap wide because its supposed to be secret hense why the varden have there settlement down there. :goodjob:
great job though with the python:goodjob:

The mod folder is just called Eragon
(With a capital e) :p

It is very, very good
I think it is the mpa too use...........but I still think it looks too big. Il dowload it...

The mod folder is just called Eragon
(With a capital e)
I know, I'm saying I need the finished mod folder, so I can sync the starting points, and sync the civs in the text part of the worldbuildersave file.

About the additions you want on the map, is there a way you can copy my screenshot and show me what you mean (by using paint or something)

500 posts! woot!

ye it is very good i just played it. ill try and show you what i mean hang on a sek... runs off to paint.
the m is mountins and the r is the vally (flat area)
or grey is the single line of mountins and the brown the flat vally area

ye sort of. not an actuall vally but flat land sourounded by mountins. The vally(as i call it) would be 1 square wide at the entrace. Then when you get further in it becomes 3 squares wide.

we finally have a dragon modle yes yesyesyesyesyes.
The modle is made by chalid and is currently being skinned by c.roland.
we will have dragons!!!!!!!!!!
I have decided that each civ will only have 2 heros dragons and the rider count as 1. I decided this so the game is not overrun by heros and so that the heros will be an extra rare addition to an army not the army itself. SO therefore peope will have to use units mailny.
It has been a hard choice narrowing them down but....
Varden-Ajihad and orik
Elves- Ayra and eragon
Empire-Galbatorix and Murtagh
Surda- Orrin and nasuada
Urgals-Nar Garzgvog and Durza
Desert Raiders- Non yet

Ther are a few strange choises in there like eragon with the elves and not the varden but i tried to incoporate the most important heros in the game i the right places.
eragon is with the elves because he turns elven and fights like them.
Durza is with the urgals because he comandes them in battle in eragon
and nausda is in surda because she spends most of her time as leader there.
If you dont agree with any of the choisis please tell me
