If you mean start and end timewise i think it should start before the fall of the riders(that way you could have another civ) and carry on till well whenever the player compleats it...

There are allready 3 human civs the varden, surda and the empire. While cavarnhall dose leave the empire in eldest before that it is still part of the empire just like all the other northern villages.
Good idea for a mod. I'm not very good at modding, but I might be able to make a couple of maps or some other things, like maybe with the xml.
ill take you up on that offer :p

well I suppose any events to go along with the story would not realy get completeded until after Empire. :crazyeye: may aswell start and keep going until you know to end it...

iv just started to learn how to xml and use sdk in civ 4 so hopefully if there is enogh support we might get a project up and running..... hopefully....heep your fingers crossed;)

you don't need to learn XML for basic modding, but what I was trying to say is don't forget python. That should be more important than SDK? :nono:
 
i know a bit about python. not alot infact hardlyanything but a bit. Never did anything with civ with it though.so i guess if anyone here works with python and wants to help go ahead.

if zenious's offer is still open we will have someone who can make maps and use a bit of xml.
Me who can use a bit of sdk and xml

Hmm, well now. It seems like this mod may be taking off. I really would like to get involved, but before I ask, I have a few questions.

Jamie, what level of xml/python/c++ do you know?
Have you ever helped mod in CivIV before?
Have you plotted a storyline type thing for this mod?
Do you know any modders that could join the team?

I'm going to start re-reading the two books to get my memory back.

The leaders are going to be the heros exept for maybe eragon.
For the empire galabortrix is the leader (soz about spelling)
but he is also a empire hero.

No but i have been looking through the tutorials and know enough.;) but we still need someone to do the major changes

yes we are starting before the fall and carrying on. An ending will follow after the 3rd book.

Exept for zenios and dalek master if they decide to help then no.

For that hero thingy, I think you should do this:

each civ has the leaders from the books.
all the characters can be trained, but if a "ledaer" type hero, dies, then the civ gets a new leader based on who would be most likely out of the minor or major characters. For instance, If the elven leader were to die in battle, the leader for that civ would be replaced. This would be hard though....

Heroes would just train like normal units, but you can only train them once (no coming back to life).

Also, if gallbatrox (i think, I wish the names were easier), dies, the empire crumples and the goodie civs win. This can be the objective when playing the goodie civs. :goodjob:

When playing the badies, (which ofcourse will have a differnt playing style and feel), you can win by, um I don't know, capture all the 2nd generation dargon-riders? they can be caught and the winner is the one that has all 3 or something.

Sorry, im only about a 5th through eldest if I have shown my ignorance :p

those civs and stuff coming...
