I've been receiving several errors while trying to install BTS on a 32-bit Vista system (Intel Core duo processor, 1.83 GHz; 3 GB Ram). It is very strange because the same BTS disks installed perfectly on another computer of mine, an old XP desktop. During the install of BTS, the first disk installs fine, but when I try to put in the second disk, the computer doesn't recognize it and won't let me continue the install (oftentimes it will start "not responding", then locking up for a while until a error message comes up saying there is no disk in the chosen drive, E: ). If it does recognize the disk, somewhere along the install i run into a "data redundancy error" and the setup quits. I have just Civ 4 installed with patch 1.61 (note: the Data redundancy errors occurred when I had 1.74 installed. I read the Civ4 and Vista guide in this forum, and uninstalled Civ4, then reinstalled with 1.61. Since then, only the non-recognizable error has occurred, which might be preventing me from getting to the point of a data redundancy error).
I've tried several times to install BTS/ some versions of Civ 4 in the past (I uninstalled them), so there is a possibility some installshield files are left. Although, I'm fairly certain i've gotten rid of all former Civ 4 registry keys.
Oh, and also, the install takes forever, especially when compared to the original Civ 4.
Any thoughts?
Thanks,
