Escape From Zombie Island 2 ready for public consumption

The Mutation

Josh the Zombie had been feeling different lately. His skin, no longer greyish green but now a strange shade of orange, was much tougher. His arms could swing harder, his legs could run faster, his teeth could bite harder, etc. All in all, Josh the Zombie thought it was quiet a nice improvement, even if his body had been hideously mutilated (Not that he really cared about that. Things like appearance lose importance after you die.) And even better, his mind had finally remembered how to use those shiny, pointy knife things the humans had, which made getting to the brains easier, as all you had to do was cut the human's head off, instead of going through the messy business of tearing it apart with your bare hands.
His friend, Ben the Zombie (Was was very smart for a zombie. Must be from eating all those nerd's brains) had explained to Josh that "The zombie virus is erasing human DNA, and replacing it with enhanced zombie DNA, which replicate and spread through the body, increasing physical attributes, but also speeding up decay time. This mutation occurs after one has been exposed to the zombie virus for extended periods of time, making the virus become a part of them."
Actually, he had just said, "GRAAGH!", but in the end they meant the same.

LizardmenRule!...well yes, have to have a Favorite Team Member name in :)

fe3333au... yes, the time I took to win as a survivor was 29 Hours, 28 minutes and 20 seconds lol. This was Test playing though. I think anywhere from 25 to 30 hours is a general range over all.

Yes, the Space Race Movie Plays before the "You Win" box. Again, your Graphics Card is not handling it.
If the 5 Stage Plan was not about Blasting Off in a Rocket as the last resort, a Zombie Theme would be nice but as it is, I made all the end Game Splash screens so we would not have to see the Normal Civ Screens. Look in your Victory Screen Folder and you can look at them.
Play as the Survivors until you win at the TV Station, then see if you still believe 12A and the units are too easy.
I believe King Arthur knows about the Resources.

The Omega...Good One...Man I had no idea so much could be said in the word "GRAAGH"

Edit: The Victory Screen for winning at the TV Station as a Survivor (Victory Point) uses the Domination Victory Screen rather than the assumed Victory Screen so I added the Victory Screen in also as the "Domination Victory Screen" to prevent the Normal CIV Screen there.
Just add the File to your EFZI2 "VictoryScreen" Folder.
Here it is for you Testers:http://forums.civfanatics.com/uploads/4870/domination_victory.zip

fe3333au...well, it could be something else but no problems with any of those "Glitches" you have seen. Have you tested your Normal CIV Game lately?

BTW...King Arthur did not send me the Newest PediaIcons.txt and I would like someone to look in their copy for this entry: #ANIMNAME_PRTO_Tank
Leopard
This entry should be the Leopard Tank, not the Panzer. You should also have this Unit, Leopard, in your units folder with the same name.

You are suppose to see a animation with a spaceshit blasting off..did you wait long enough? it always took about 30 seconds on my computer to show that animation

might I suggest the following names for Company..
Mac form Maintainence(however, you spell that)
Patrick from PR
Sullivan from Security
Mckinley from Management
C...from Communcition. (No name with C comes to mind)
Williams from Wiring...

I also think Church should have one entrance...it makes it all the more intersting...

That's the one I found....

#ANIMNAME_PRTO_Attack_Dog
Husky
#ANIMNAME_PRTO_Guard_Dog
War Dog
#ANIMNAME_PRTO_Tank
Panzer
#ANIMNAME_PRTO_King_Zombie
Alpha Zombie

So should I change it???? to Leopard

I was missing in action with a router problem but it's all sorted out now.

Ok I've read all the posts and there's too many to comment on individually. Thanks for the additional pedia entries I'll update the post with the completed ones soon.

I think we need to proceed carefully here and this is what I propose:

1) Set Basic Instinct (government) rate cap at 6. This will slow zombie research down without harming the other factions.

2) Connect up Church with a road on its eas side.

3) Set Ms Tok and Sheriff Randy to 4HP (as should have been done in 27-OCT patch).

4) Increase cost of Monster Zombie by 20 - I think they were too cheap and basically made your plight completely hopeless - however, you should be able to research your best techs before zombiegeddon and be thinking of escaping the island (survivors, company) or blowing everyone up with missiles (Authorities).

5) Increase cost of Zombiegeddion by 10 again to slow appearance of Monster Zombies.

6) Increase the length of the end game slighly by increasing cost of these techs by 10: Op Sledgehammer; Get Me The President; The Cover Up; Cybernetics; The Big Finale; The Horrible Truth.

7) Unit balance: Badass +1 HP cost 70; Mutant + 1HP; 2 more normal zombies to each starting city held by the zombies;

Keep playing 12A and try playing till the end of the game at least Day 10 to get a feel for all the changes.

You're right an immobile unit for the zombies is needed because the zombies just do not defend their cities very well.

How about a zombie tree for that purpose? (Treeman, Dryad.)

EDIT: And here's a civilopedia entry for it should you choose to enter it in:

Zombie Tree

The Zombie virus is compatible with more creatures than the scientists of the Company ever imagined. Not only does it affect all forms of animal life, but it also affects some forms of plant life, notably really big trees. Though zombies have no taste for plants, an occasional zombie tree is created when a zombie lunges at it's target, and ends up missing due to some reason or another, and bites a tree.

The result is that the zombie virus is carried up the tree's Xylem, and spread throughout the tree, searching for a brain to hijack. Due to the lack of brains for a tree, the zombification process is really slow, though the mutation process follows almost immediatly afterwards, as the zombie virus is pumped throughout the tree in search of a brain. The mutation leads to bestowing the host tree limited movement, being able to swing it's branches to decapitate people, as well as the capability to rip some of it's roots out of the ground and kill people. A mouth is sometimes generated so that it can eat people.

Fortunatly, the zombie virus can not use the zombie tree as a host to further spread the pathogen under normal circumstances, as the zombie tree's seeds are incapable of growing more zombie trees. The zombie virus can only be spread in rare conditions if a human or animal is lucky enough to evade the branches of doom as well as stupid enough to eat some of their zombie fruit. (squirrles are frequently turned into zombie squirrles by eating zombie oak tree's acorns.)

I got some time to playtest today, so here's a report, if you want to read it. I was playing as a random civ (Authorities) on 12a (of course!)
Anyway, here's the report:
"Presedent, at exactly 0 0'hundred ours, a batallion of ours was caught up in some kind of freak attack outside the compound. General Fullbright himself appeared there to steady the troops, but Opperation:Retreat to Base was a complete failure. The men are now completely defensless. However, it has been confirmed that associates of ours, the farmers, have been rallying to the cause of the nation, in our name.

However, the situation in the East of the island has been somewhat brighter. We managed to rescue some "hostages" from the local conference centre. How they managed to survive the slaughter fest, I do not know. But enough of that. Srg. Decker and company have succesfully managed to garrison the area, and we've recieved the two
hostages to base.

Mean while, we found detective Sam Hammer snooping around company property, so naturally, we hired him to do our dirty work, and he was a key figure in the re-taking of the Bank.

After a grueling day of fighting these homisidal maniacs, including a brave fight at the ratio station, we managed to launch Opperation:Reclemation, assulting the Armory. Private Hank O' Donnel was the sole personel involved in this opperation, but it paid off immensley, and at 0200 hours, we mannaged to take the armory. However, the situation is starting to look bleak in the East, as Opperation:Popcorn ended with a narrow victory, with the Cinema still in terrorist hands, and a very wounded Paul Diego. Furthermore, one of these beasts is coming strait towards our Conference Centre. Known
only as "Omega", this thing's huge, like a drug test gone wrong. I'm not even sure that this Omega feller is human! Eventually, he killed Srg. Decker, and I don't think there's enough time for backup!

Come 4 AM, and a mixtrue of vengance for Srg. Deckers death and one of the hostages brave performances has given our troops some kind of moral boost. But that boost still hasn't given the Centre any help, with another of our men dying. Little do those scum know that every of our deaths just makes our men madder! With just one of our Riot Cops stationed there, I dunno how long it can hold out. However, help is on its way in the form of a 'Dar-leck', or something, made by one of the hostages."

"6 AM, Mr. Presedent. I cannot tell you how much we need rienforcements. These Riot Police just arn't trained or equipped enough! So far, the Conference Centre has fallen, with "Omega" having taken yet another foul swoop.

The term going around our men for these terrorist creatures at the moment is "Zombies". I can sort of see why myself, though, as they're dead slow, reek like an Undertakers', and seem to like to endulge in some form of... cannibalism... They havn't made their demands yet, either, as everytime we get in contact with them, they just exclaim that they want "brains". If they had brains, I think we can all agree that they'd call off this entire situation!"

"0800 hours, and we're a couple of hours from re-inforcements. They would have been availabable now if things hadn't been so hectic over the last couple of hours! Nothing else to report, appart from an increased amount of activity around the 'Hardware Store'."

"10 AM, and the sun has come out for us! (not literally, unfortunatley...) We've recieved precious ammo and re-inforcements, and we're literally hours from sending the island into martial law. Even better, is that we've managed to round up the dockers to our cause! Even More great news came, as we took back the Centre, with the help of Darleck and the Mayors own private bodyguard."

"8 PM, and I can safely say that Opperation:Moviestar was a complete success. Again, it nearly ended in the loss of Paul Diego, but a survivor of the Radio Station horror, and the hostage that we can call "Elvis", managed to secure the taking. I don't think Omega was a one-off creature, though, as there was a "Zombie" in there known as #4, who had deformations that were just the same!"

"0400 hours, day 3. We don't know how long we can hold on, but we think we can for a little longer. We've now successfully imposed Martial Law, and are on our way to establishing a Miltary HQ anytime within the next couple of hours. The Bodyguard managed to route out a Great Leader! Is that good, or what! However, over the past
several hours, the "Zombies" seem to have mutated. This looks like bad news, but we'll see."

Suggestions:
-Maybe ever so slightly harder for authorities.
-Also, maybe more important roads that need repairing. Otherwise, Engineers are hardly used.
-Tech myself better writing skills :p

I just reused the new Alpha Zombie by Plotinus. So now they come in two types: Sated and Roaming. The sated ones start in the buildings and are immobile as we need. The roaming ones are autoproduced by the Test Lab (as they break free of their restraints) and come after you.

Still maybe I could put a zombie tree at Species Jump, I dunno.

Hey, when you've released this version, could you help me out with terrain for the end of the world scenario, as it looks very similar to the terrain in this? Right now I've been using a weird combination of terrain from the old EFZI2 and the stuff that Lord Malbeth sent me, but it doesn't have everything I want, and, due to the fact that I have no idea what half the files I'm using actually do, it looks really weird in some places.....

Virote - nice report especially the Operations: Popcorn and Movie Star! LOL. I sent out another update so you probably won't get to finish that game ;)

Of course I'll help out.

Update Recieved :scan:

And not to worry, as that game was in the bag, anyway (I was researching "Get me the Presedent" when I quit, and had Hank outside the Church, and various troops stationed around the Hardware Store and Factory).

Looking through the Change Log, I must ask: Why is the Church now connected by a road? It's lost all its protection from "Evil Beings" (Monster Zombies) :p

Because it's near useless anyway.....no good unit can be produced...so with on opening you get to barricade it and watch zombies coming after you....great fun....update received too...going to try survivors this time

Virote - the church as Cloner pointed out is pretty useless because of the lack of any decent units able to be built there.

Now that I think on it I wonder if I should have connected up to the North road as it has more defensive options i.e. you can barricade two tiles instead of just one. Of course that road is also closer to the Research Centre so probably not as nice for a non zombie player. ??

There isn't an Alpha (Sated) zombie in the Fast Food Joint.

So far....research 4 teches....doing pretty well. The AI are still able to take building ...Detective's Office by Company and Church by Farmers, but other stay intacts and AI could hold their position fairly well.

One problem is that AI doens't know how to use the victorious leader unit, I see both Farmer and zombie has one but it just stationary and does nothing. That's a shame.

Taking building are much harder now trying to get my finger on some ammo, the AI and cheapsticks and doesn't want to give me.
