European Berzerkers, Take 2

Indeed Jack, Settling next to the wheat is what I was thinking of too. Anarres' option sounds ok too, I guess.

Did Datsekkar say no? Or nothing at all?

I like it, too - we need as much commerce as we can get.

I sent Datsekkar a PM as he cannot be contacted via e-mail through the forums - if you have his e-mail, please contact him. I'm reserving the fifth spot for him at least until 1-2 days after Aggie has played.

Hello! Sorry for the silence, but I’ve been away for the week-end.

I’m in, that is if the slot is still open and if I can get Easter-leave, since like all good Norwegians, I’m bound to go for the Mountains during the Easter-week :)

Looks like a challenging start… Playing on a modified map will be fun!

@Aggie: Well, if it is supposed to be the southern tip of Norway, I would love to have the rest of Norway attached to it (and even Sweden  ) cause this start is tight :)

Datsekkar, the open slot was reserved for you! I'll be away with easter too, but if things go like last time, we will be finished before easter.

Who needs a dot-map? The scouts are in the positions for the next two cities in the south aren't they? Adding the two cities suggested by anarres would bring us to 7 cities on sweet little island of ours, and I think that is the most it can support...

Well, Stapel's placing of the cities and the scouts on next city sites does constitute dotmapping :D

Glad to have you aboard, Datsekkar !

P.S. Note to next player(s): do not disband the scouts ! We can use them once mapmaking comes around for island exploration and they do not cost anything to maintain.

well, here we go:

preturn: debate the pros and cons of settler and worker in Trond, decide to stick with the worker

(1) starting road to Furs, forest will NOT be cut right now as Trond can use the two prod atm... it is growing faster than producing settlers....

(2) lux up 20.

(3) Zulu complete Oracle! Lux back down.

(4) Rejkjavik founded

(5)

(6) a new settler starts his long march ( ) to the south

(7) - (11) Yaaaaaawwwwwwnnnn

(12) two more towns YAY!
...
(15) Paris Pyramids. Last settler, worker ordered.

(16)

(17) all settled

(18) Lyon Colossus

(19) decide on Barracks in Trond, then we should build Spears fro all the empty cities.

(20)

Looking at the map, I think we should slip in ceremonial burial at max science before going for mapmaking. That's just an opinion though - other opinions might contradict it :) (Dutch joke)

aggie: thanx for catching the irrigating worker, I wanted to move down and mixed them up :( doh! that's what you get for playing when tired and occupied with a deity PBEM :(

I am FOR MapMaking right away, if we can significantly speed it (say 30 instead of 40) this would also be wort hmax science. The sooner we get settlers abroad and contacts, the better.

I absolutely agree on max science on MM if feasible -time to research may get better as our towns grow, so perhaps we should just try max science right away.
