European Union

Lol; after a few more touch ups , I'll be finished with this mod and Skafsgard will take care of the balancing issue in his revision! Good points though Ikael and ashmizen

Here is the xml with the german translation. I hope I didn't make misstakes ;) It's here early *g* I made its at 5 AM *g*

Translated Version is the V7. If you have an new version send me an email :)

In Germany nobody says Eurofighter Typhoon so I changed it in german to Eurofighter EF2000, the real identifier of the jet ;)

can someone plz tell me were to DL these new civs. Went to the DL-center here on civf but its all emtpy.

Cool. Silly me. i was still in the Civ4 way of getting mods. :S

Millions of Thanks mate. :D

The download is in the mod browser from Civ V.

Launch the game, go to mods and from there go to downloads.

If you can't find it in the Civilizations tabs search in all mods.

You don't need the german file, it is already in the downloadable version of the mod.

Don't forget to install the mod after the download.

During the start the game shows the Foreign Legion as 2nd UU, instead of the European Central Bank as UB. I think it's a small bug, right? You'll fix it?

It isn't completely incorrect. The Foreign Legion is one of the many UUs and UBs the EU has.

I like this civilization but I don't like the description of the UA. I'm not completely sure what the benefits are.

UU:The eurofighter sounds good.
UB: Parlement (replacing Theater, by talking way to much you basicly numb everybody into happiness)

United States:
+50% research rate after the Industrial Era
all modern era units have +50% strength (to reflect America's unmatched military technologies)
+100% gold from stock exchange
.

wellehh. US is falling behind on most places except strenght + most EU countries have the same quality militairy (esp. the NATO members)

Don't you think that all special units and all traits of European Civs is a little overpowered? Do it have some disadvatages to balance the civ?

My proposal for disadvantages would be f.ex higher happiness cost for cities (2 instead of 1) to show how hard it is to make everyone happy is such multicultural enviroment?

Also since most of the nations making up the EU have socilist systems perhaps thier cities and general up keep cost a little more than normal.

sounds like a great mod thus i installed v6 some weeks ago but had to quit playing. today i wanted to restart and first of all got a game update and updated the mod to v8.

now i cannot get this mod to work. i have some other mods installed as well, but even tried to only run EU v8 to no avail. everytime i get all standard european civs to choose from, but not the EU...
other mods are working though ...

btw: is the 2 gpu implemented? hopefully not
and is it possible to swap the 2 colors? the dominant color of the EU is blue, not some sickly yellow ;-)

anyone able to help out ?

Greetings. I've seen this mod in the game and I liked the idea :) I added the Spanish translation from the Germanboy4u's version.

I used the tag <Language_en_SP> to delimit the Spanish translation, but I don't know if it is correct.

At the end of the file are disabled civilizations of England, France, Germany, Rome and Greece. Spain might also be disabled, but maybe it could be a problem for those who do not have the DLC "Spain and Inca".

Same problem

This is, btw, really rather silly.

The EU, has what, a tiny short existance in history, [...] EU Hoplites? EU longbowmen? What?

Civ is meant to be played, not realistic. Otherwise, the United States, [...]

I know this contribution is a few months old already, but I just wanted to point out the hypocrisy in your remark. I mean, stating that this endeavor is 'silly' because of the short history of the EU makes no sense if you then go on to compare it to the US. Obviously, the United States is hardly an 'ancient' civilization, and your examples of hoplites and longbowmen would make as little sense as the EU ones. In fact, considering a potential concept of 'European' culture, hoplites and longbowmen should be considered historically quite European, if you ask me.

Anyway, a great initiative if you ask me! :)
