I just got the Barbarian Invaders event that lets me hire them, and after picking a military unit the popup didn't seem to disappear. It let me select a second option (ambush them since I had only 54:c5gold: leftover after the first selection) which applied, and the popup disappeared.

My guess is that similar to the other things that are appearing twice, the popup is launched twice as well.

Versions: GEM v1.053 and CivUP v34
 
This bug doesn't just show the popup twice. AIs also get to select two choices just like the human. Even more interesting, if you can afford any of the choices that cost :c5gold: when the popup displays, you can go negative with your second choice. In other words, the choices are disabled when the popup if first created which likely means both popups are created at the start. Worse still, the negative balance is wiped out at the start of your next turn, setting your account to 0 :c5gold:.

One thing I forgot is that I also have the Fast Aircraft Animations mod activated. I wouldn't think it could be causing this issue, but it's an additional variable to consider.
 
Using the same versions here without the Aircraft Animations mod and am not getting the double messages.

Do you have an older or second version of the mod in your mods folder?
 
I had this bug when the GK compatibility patch first came out. Haven't seen it since Thal put out a CivUp compatible version for GK.
 
Steam's downloader can result in multiple hidden versions of mods in the mods folder, without showing up on the ingame mod list. Make sure there's only 1 version of each mod. :)
 
Yes, I have two versions in the MODS folder. I have removed the old one and will try again. I thought that disabling a mod would, y'know, disable the mod. ;)
