Ever have a child take the controls? What was the damage?

So I walk away from a game to get something out of the oven, and when I get back my 2 year old (almost 3 really) is playing my game. She managed to get into worldbuilder and gave me some lions, strangely enough all in enemy territory (except the ones in the ocean). I couldn't yell at her of course, especially when she said "Look daddy, I made lions!" Anyone else have a similar story?

Oh by the way, the wave of lions was ineffective against the enemy. lol

I had my daughter start playing when she was 5 or so. She didn't do so well...she tended to declare war on people when she first met them, especially if she didn't "like their face". She'd build a city or two, and try and get horses if at all possible.

I stopped playing Civ4 for a few years and started up again when I got BtS several months ago. She's a lot better now at 8, she can read better and she seems to understand enough basics of the game to dominate consistently on Chieftan.

Wow, did I laugh out loud at work reading this! I don't have kids yet but I'm the oldest of 5 children, so I have had my share of "kids take over my game" events.

Unfortunately none are as funny as yours, but recently I was playing LOTR for PS2 with my youngest brother, now 11, and we beat it in just a few hours over 2 days. This was amazingly quick compared to the 2 weeks of Christmas break it took us when he was 5.

Kids playing video games is too fun :)

I had my 10 year old brother took control of one of my games, I left the room and came back later. I don't know how he did it, but I had super science, and culture and I was making 85 gpt. I can't do that! Just a funny story.

Sea Lions? :mischief:

Adorable story. Now load up an autosave.

Just wait. One day, you'll enter the room and he'll be playing your saves and will have hacked into the game and reprogammed it so that all of your units have 8 million strength and look like dinosaurs.

The cat took over once and gave Monty 2200 gold.

Well, ok, he jumped on the keyboard, but this was before I knew about autosaves.

I never said that.

Hang about. There's a mod that makes all the units look like dinosaurs? Awesome! I thought that was just an old C&C myth?

Link to Dino-mod please.

I've had alot of 'cat steps on keyboard' occurances.

I tease my wife about our now 6 month old baby playing video games with me. She isn't a big fan of me spending time doing it, but I can't convince her that it is the correct bonding time to be spending with him in the future.

Cats suck. Dogs rule. 'Nuff said. :D

Oh really? How are your shoes doing, friend? Do you grow tired of hair everywhere? ;)

EDIT: Actually you don't have to answer. I realize we're both way off topic from the original post.
