I like to target fascist and communist goverments more than I do other types, because when the ai uses those govs, it means they're probably warmongering and beating up on my allies. And really, that's just asking for a beatdown from my Panzers of Justice(tm).

It's your territory. Manage it how you like. You could trap them in a corner of you empire by leading them with your units. (Create cells, and one pair per cell)

i never tried leading or herding them before, but as a message ive sent riders and stuff either in small group in front or a line as a wall.
then i contact them telling them to GET OUT OR DECLARE WAR! (or hope for it to show) thinking that with troops there it would threaten them... (ok.. AI is dumb.. dumb.. dumb.. dont think they can tell).
sometimes they will get off and KEEP WALKING BACK.
sometimes i will SURROUND THEM (dont know if auto-move can remove them in that case) but they just stand there like trees...
Sometimes if its just a soldier and i didnt threaten but they responded, they will disband.

but if you want to hear something funny-
i had a "manchuria" (sp-ck) or big plop of land north of beijing.. unclaimed cause culture havent reached it.
MASSIVE amounts of settlers.. from france (2), arabia (1), persia(1), zulu(1),carthage (2), and one carthage ship was sighted going to colonize it.
in a dangerous move i moved all my riders and some swordsman and pike mand to fill all the land near the coast and directly north, south, east, or west from it.
it made some cities defenceless but.. i claimed it hahahahaha!
.. carthage ended up standing in my territory...
i told them to leave..
they did...
came back again 2 turns later and stood there again...
about ... 50 turns later or so ROME declared war on CARTHAGE and OMG i was so happy to see the fireworks...

I like Communism in RL but don't use it in the game. :D

I generally try to avoid war. But if I do go to war, I like to conquer my whole half of the world, and then get an AI civ to conquer their half. Then I move on to them.

It is hard to play ethically when you get dragged in to situations that make you respond, if you for example tried to be a pacifist, the AI may consider you weak and attack you even if you are paying tribute.

So, it is best to be a war monger and go on the offensive, paying no care to ethics, it is a game.

I think the game could get boring or maybe you could consider it a challenge. :crazyeye:

Since Civ2, I've started playing solely as the Americans. I switch to Repub or Democracy pretty early and always stay there, even through war.

I try to play ethically, but only with respect to my own people. If the enemy attacks me, or denies me resources, I will not hesistate to send a stack of 200+ artillery units to level every city in their empire, murdering millions of their people in the process.

Punishment is fun in Civ3.

I don't really let my feelings determine how I play this game. However, occasionally, an AI annoys me enough that I "take action" against them. Otherwise I'm content to sit and and watch. Of course, simply limiting my growth is considered "annoying" to me.

No, I don't play Civ3 for any Ethical reason in real life. To me, it is a game, no wait, more like "Alternative History" as I see it. I simply play it to recreate Human life and the way Civillization developed. To me, that is the fun aspect.

I play my games around my ethics! Facist government, against all the commies! (Russians, Chinese, Iraquiase, Incas) and all my enemys souly from playing civ! (Germany, Arabia, Ottomans) I use the Hitties! I just go as a 100% pop/terrain victorry, and go on the offensive, but only if my freinds (mostly Ottomans) get attacked!

I have to say no since in reality I have absolutely no desire to be a leader of a civ. In general I believe anyone who truly wants to be a ruler is the last person who should be allowed to be a ruler. There have been some exceptions, but some of those had it thrust upon them and simply and honestly tried to do their best. Hmmm, I guess that is how I play Civ...

Nope. I'll destroy everything in my path and not be satisfied til everything is in ruins.

@Tomoyo, LOL that was great ^_^ (I have never really watched Cardcaptor Sakura, but know the Basics, kinda)

I try to play Ethically. Like i don't think I have ever picked Communsim or Fascism as a govement. I try to help out the Civs that are being attacked by a bigger ones, and give back their Cities, it Like SMAC better when doing this.

When going to war on the enemy civ land, I don't play Ethically, I use carpet-bombing bombing every on the land. So what If I made a size 20 city into a size 1.
