Or is it simply a no no to do this...or does it give you satisfaction?

Like industrious leaders, or philo leaders like pericles for instance.

Some leaders where they might be more suited for cultural but you say wth and try to conquere the globe.

That's the best thing in CIV, you can do what you want with any leader :D. You can run SE with Financial leader, you can be really aggressive when playing as Gandhi, you can be in peace whole game with aggressive leader, you can do whatever you want. But it doesn't give me any special "satisfaction" either lol. I just play as I see the best with my traits and map available.
Spoiler :
EDIT: 100th post woooohooooooo :D :P :) ;) :O

I wouldn't consider it a no no... my first Space win was the opposite - Monty in space.

I'm usually super-aggressive when playing as Gandhi. :crazyeye:

The Indians have the ultimate WW-busting UB, while Fast Workers means less workers means an earlier rush.

And Spi/Phi is my favourite warmongering trait combo:

Soldiers-Scientists-Soldiers-Scientists-Soldiers-etc until everyone else is dead.

I often play aggressive with HC and MM as well.

Both are Financial, which helps to pay unit and city maintenance costs, and super-early resource-free UUs make for the fastest rushes known to civ.

The bonuses from both UBs (culture and gold respectively) are useful when expanding fast, and are attached to buildings you'd want anyway when warmongering.

Plus HC can build one or two key wonders between wars, while MM can make full use of the wartime civics without losing valuable turns to anarchy.

One leader I don't war with a great deal is Lizzy. Obviously, the Redcoats have to get an outing or two. But thanks to her huge economic advantages, I simply don't need as much land as I do with other leaders.

I'm not sure I would consider Pericles as any better suited for a cultural win than military domination. The +2 culture from Creative is meaningless as far as a cultural victory is concerned, but it can be very effective for expanding the borders of conquered cities. Philosophical is also very useful for lightbulbing your way to a superior military tech such as Rifling, by bulbing Philosophy, Education and Liberalism. With Rifling+Theaters+SE+Nationhood, you could draft your way to world domination.

I think any leader with traits that can lead to a strong economy, and or tech lead, is a good candidate to win aggressively or peacefully.
