Everyone should try this

I doubt much effort was put into balancing these options. Maybe some in medieval/renaissance starts but probably none in future one. And frankly I can't see a point. AI will not stand a chance regardless difficulty level and buffs. Human settles on top of resources and gets a head start. With overpowerdness of modern units couple of turns is all what it takes.

I have a related question. When you play a game with a later starting era does this cause a lower high score? It appears that the scoring system gives the player a higher score if they end the game early. Does a late era start reduce the number of total turns available when playing at the same speed setting?

I try to play the game to beat my best score. Is that realistically possible with a later era start?

Unsure about the first question, but as to the last question, yes. For instance, me and a friend are currently playing an Industrial start game, and it plops us down into Turn 250 (1700AD) on standard speed settings.

Well, I saw from one of his vids that MadDjinn had a Future Era start game as Persia where he racked 10,000pts worth of score. It was a Domination victory, and it lasted only 59 turns!

Thanks for the info. 10,000 points sounds good - I'll have to give it a try.
