Does anyone know/tried to expend a GE for a hammer boost? Is it possible and if so how could one tell how many hammers would go into it?

World's Fair counts as a percentage investment, like Gold or Science, and doesn't have a production cost. So I'm guessing "No".

I don't think that's true. It sets a production value based on the amount of civilzations in game. When, among all civs, that total production value is reached, the project is finished. I still don't know if it works. I'd imagine, since it's listed in the same place as the science and gold conversion choices, that using GE's would work if they work for those. Does anybody know if they work there?

I wouldn't be surprised if they are treated as projects and you aren't allowed to use the Great Engineer ( is grayed out). Haven't personally tried it though.

Sorry for necro. Found this thread through Google. Tested and confirmed, you cannot rush it with GE.

Confirmed : the "hurry" icon is greyed out when in a city doing the :world fair, international games, ISS, gold focus , or science focus. The "hurry" action can be used for any other city build ,although , i am pretty sure it doesn't have rollover so, you would want to hold the GE's for something BIG. industrial+ wonders are the only things i have seen that a GE doesn't finish totally , and , even then : it only leaves a small handful of turns left.

Since the WC elements are included as Projects, doesn't surprise me. GE can't rush Projects.
