Experience vs Inexperience

Rich ( Komoda ).. It's real simple. In MP if you are not willing & ready to wage war if neccessary, you are going to be somebody's meat ! And this from the very start.

Secondly, initially you have to expand at the beginning like crazy.. don't dither ! I have discussed this with you before.

I have the note's prepared on some beginners' MP strategies & habits, which I plan on putting in the "Stategy" section when I get the time. I hope this & the comments of others might help out.

You're going to write strategy? LOL Oh my god. As if the poor guy didn't have enough problems. Do I need to refer you to his first post? The key word there is EXPERIENCED. WHy don't you get HIEROPHANT to help you write it? He's a self proclaimed expert too. HAHAHAHA!!! What a joke.

A solid MP guide sounds like a good idea to me, speaking as a non-experienced MP player.

Say Eyes, if Dogberry is willing to do the basic groundwork for a MP guide, would you be willing to lend a hand, since you're experienced? Or at least maybe help QC or edit it... seems a shame to for you not to help out, with your experience and all

. I've read some of your other info that you've posted, so I know you are capable of writing.

PS, EyesOfNight, if you can't get along with Dog (or don't want to assist), you should write your own guide for the benefit of all. You don't have to reveal your most precious secrets, but target those that understand basic Civ II SP who are transitioning to Civ II MP...

No you don´t...your advise is kack as I have pointed out on some occasions and I know of at least another 3 threads where I could dredge up more of your ludicrous useful advise.

SunTzu would behead you.

EON.....yawn, ought to get a GF & quit boring everybody.

The stuff that I am thinking of will be of little help to a good SP player, however it does cover what I & others have seen as common mistakes in beginning MP play. Hopefully, it will enable a new person to succeed in becoming a player, in most of their MP games. The game isn't much fun if you are always dead or a distant 5th .. in a 5 player game.

Eyes.. you may not believe this, but jerks like you are a real drag on this whole genre. Sorry for being so harsh, but it happens to be true. If it weren't for your attitude & that of others similiar to yours, there would be 4 or 5 times the MP player base that we have now. If you want.. I can show you why, directly.

P.S. I am usually 1st or 2nd in most ( but not all ) of my MP games & since I am known as a "good fighter" .. diplomacy is usually easier too. Not interested in duels.. consider them to be the lowest form of Civ & at 2x2 a perversion.

lol Now that is a joke Dog. I'm not even going to bother responding to that because it was so pathetic. Especially that little P.S. you left at the end. Was I supposed to be impressed? How about this, you write a strategy guide and I'll write one too and we'll see who's is better.

Both strategy guides will probably be candidates for the world´s thinnest book

Seriously...it would be good if we had some strategy advise coming from such self-proclaimed gaming masters...

WHAT I DON´T want to see is like in the Prima Strategy guide a run down through all the wonders, units and terrains...give us the juicy stuff.

As for my secrets...they remain my own...got to have something to sell to the Russians when I retire!

Ok..Eyes you are on. Just start a thread in the Strategy Section of these forums. We will see how the hits & the comments go. Mine will be directed at starting MP players, with or without SP experience. You, of course, can write what you want.

Unless I have something constructive to say, I will stay off your thread.

Kitty...I am anything but a master at this game, or any other one for that matter. I am simply trying to be helpful, get more people involved & have fun while doing it. I see that you, yourself seemed to have come around to the MP side of things.. inspite of the patience & time required. It helps if people can play a "good" game with some consistancy.

Further, there are no damned secrets in this game. The only exceptions being if you know some obscure way the game works & most others do not. There is only effective technique & strategy as opposed to the less effective techniques & strategies.

Well, if not secret then ALOT of people are keeping quiet about some of what I know.

Good luck with the guide...if you want some tips I may help...e-mail me if you are interested.

well guys, I'm playing civ2 since I have memory, I was a terrybly agressive player, but one day a friend told me about the pacifist way to win the game, i learned it and played it until now, is more efficient.
I think if you are going to attack me I will be prepared.
I think if the war is used carefully by a pacifist player he'll have the best chance to win it, because he won't go on war if he think there is a posibility of lose the war...

pd: sorry my bad english
